Booking through Thursday

Some people read one book at a time. Some people have a number of them on the go at any given time, perhaps a reading in bed book, a breakfast table book, a bathroom book, and so on, which leads me to…

  1. Are you currently reading more than one book?
  2. If so, how many books are you currently reading?
  3. Is this normal for you?
  4. Where do you keep your current reads?
For more answers go here

For once I am actually just reading one book at the moment, a strange thing for me. Because usually I can be reading a couple of books. I can't say how many are normal but 2-3. That way I can choose the one that fits my mood the most. But in the end I do focus mostly on one book, and then when that one is finished I move on to the next one. And might start a new one in between. Then there are the times like this when I only read one book.

My books can be found on my night stand, at the other end of the bed. Floor...yes the might sometime end up there too, it all centres around my bed. Maybe cos I have a small flat and the bed is where I sit, well I could leave something in the living room but since I am not living alone I wont.

And of course there is my bad, yes if I am leaving the house there is a book there.

How about you then? 1 book or more?

  1. I usually read one book at a time; the most is two. Any more than that and I'd get confused, LOL.

  2. I usually read once fiction and one non-fiction at a time. I don't like to read two fictions because I always get the stories messed up in my head (I always figure it out, but who wants to think that much when they read?) and the non-fiction is good for on the go places.

I keep both by my bed when I'm at home, and keep the non-fiction in my purse when I'm on the run (if it's small enough).

  3. I can only manage one at a time. I get stories and characters confused if I try to read more. I am going through my TBR's slower, but I am able to concentrate more on the book at hand. :)
    Happy Thursday!

  4. Melody, I understand about that, I myself have no idea how I do it. Maybe I am constantly confused lol.

I heart monster, that is a good idea how to do it :) Fiction and nonfiction.
Luckily my purse is big enough, a bit heavy though

Missy, I think I got used it as a kid and now I can't stop. The stories stay in their own places for me.
    Happy Thursday :D

  5. Usually I read two or three books, sometimes even more...I have got used to it and only if I find something really interesting I read only one. No problem with stories or characters either.

  6. Three or more. I need to do that according to my changing moods!

  7. Eva S, yeah it's simple isn't it when you get used to it, but it does take practice I guess.

Gautami, yes I am so the same, I need books for my different moods :)

  8. I'm a first time visitor and I love your blog...It's beautiful.

Guilty - because of lack of time I have to read more than one book at a time or I wouldn't get to read at all. I'm a author, so much of my time is spent writing books.
I don't get to read as much as I'd like - that's for sure.

  9. Thanks for visiting my blog Hawk :)

I do like to read many books at once, more me it's more fun that way. And easy too.
I understand if you do it like that when you are an author.

  10. I get freaked out if I see a book on the floor. I don't know why. I cannot read more than 1 book at a time, I wish I could though.

  11. Violetcrush, oh yes I shouldn't be so careless with my books but they might end up there when I am reading...but if anyone shows up I am quick to save the poor book

    ReplyDelete
  12. lol... Violet, don't look down ;-) Ach, I have kids, so books pave the floor sometimes.

I don't understand the "just one book" thing. people watch more than one tv series, or take more than one course in school, so why can't they read more than one book? *sigh* Maybe it's just my ADD... :-D

  13. I'm one of those that can't read more than one book at time. Once in awhile I'll read a fiction and a non-fiction, but other than that, I get confused easily :)

  14. I am the same -- usually 2-3 books at a time, depending on my mood.

  15. I used to only read one at a time, but now I'll do two-three, and it's a mood thing like you. And there's nothing better than reading in bed! It's one of my fave things in the world.

  16. Thekoolaidmum, I have to agree with you on that, I don't get it either. I can keep track of my books. But on the other hand it's easier with one.

Yvonne, I think I and my fellow many book readers are a minority here :)

Jess, just like me then :)

  18. Good Morning Blodeuedd:

I'm reading 4 books at the moment and normally have about 3 on the go at the same time. I like the e-reader for reading in bed and I usually have at least 2 paperbacks on the go from different genres.

Are you looking forward to a nice long weekend?

    Warm regards
    L

  19. Hi Lea
Many books at once is sure nice isn't :D I love to jump from genre to genre, whatever suits me at the moment.

Oh yes, 4 days, yay :D I'll be at my parents, my bf's parents, and his place. Luckily we all live close to each other.

  23. I'm a one book at a time kinda girl. Sometimes I'll work on an ebook at the same time as a paperback, but that's rare.

I keep my currently reading and some selections from my TBR mountain in my TV stand.

    :) VFG

  33. Hi Blodeuedd!

I always have several going at one time, at least two, sometimes three. I like to hop from book to book. I don't know why...it's just the way I read. Unless I've been asked to review something before a publication date, then I try to focus on that book. But otherwise, I read what I like when I like!

    Dottie :)

  34. I always read 1 book at a time...the only time I am able to read more than 1 is when I am reading a non fiction

    ReplyDelete
  35. Matt, Milet, thanks for stopping by :D

Desertrose, Cecile, thank you so much :D That is so sweet of you. I am so flattered.

Dottie, same with me, I jump from book to book. It's fun that way. But right now I am reviewing so I am focusing on that single book.

Novroz, I have heard that about non-fiction and fiction

  36. Sometimes I feel I have a blanket of books.
I love to read a couple at a time.
I have my current reads near my favorite chair.
I have rectangular baskets with upcoming.
If I get to a point where the book is slowing down or I'm tired of it, then I swap over to another one. I find it easy to do this.

  37. Wisteria, that sure sounds like a poem, did you mean to do that? :D

  38. I normally read only one book at a time but recently, I have found myself reading four books and I have no idea how it happened. As soon as I am done with these I am going back to one at a time.
