Read in April and Awards

book binge
I participated in The Book Binge

Where we list the books read in April, and those we didn't finish

1. The Welsh Girl by Peter Ho Davies
Well written, but in the end it didn't take me by storm as much as it could have

2. Uptown girl by Olivia Goldsmith
I disliked the main character so that kind of ruined it for me

3. Dancer by Collum McCann
This was so well-written and I was enthralled

4. Mucho Caliente! by Francesca Prescott
Loved this book, smiled the entire time

5. The loner's Guarded heart by Michelle Douglas
A cute fast read that will warm you up

6. White Star by Elizabeth Vaughan
Fantasy romance with zombies!

7. The King's Daughter by MC Halliday
Fantasy historical romance about magic and love

8. An Angel for Emily by Jude Deveraux
A bit disappointed cos her historicals are so much better

9. Confessions of a shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella
Chick-lit that makes you smile

10. Invisible by Kimber Chin
Mystery meets romance

11. Shopaholic takes Manhattan by Sophie Kinsella (posting review tomorrow)

12. I did not finish Four Souls by Luise Endrich, gave up on page 50. A shame cos she had a great language that flowed, but not for me.
13. I fear I gave up on The Secret Scripture by Sebastian Barry, on page 40, nothing at all wrong with his writing, but didn't feel like this book.

  11. Hi Blodeuedd!

Great reading month!! I was kind of slow this month, spent too much time on Twilight I guess LOLOL. It was just an off month for me, I'm blaming the crappy Illinois weather. 80 degrees one day, 40 degrees the next -- can it get any weirder??

    What lovely awards! Congrats!!

    Dottie :)

  15. Hi Dottie,
All months can't be good ones, I think to my knowledge over the years May has been a bad month for me. Bad weird weather, work, essays and exams. Busy month.

And that is sure a change in the weather! I sure hope it doesn't get like that here, which it will cos we have too warm weather right now

    Thanks :)
