I haven't done a BTT in ages so now I am gonna do a really short one.
Do you read celebrity memoirs? Which ones have you read or do you want to read? Which nonexistent celebrity memoirs would you like to see?
My answer is no, I have never read one and I doubt I ever will want to read one. They are not for me. Not at all. So there isn't one celebrity that hasn't given out a memoir that I want to read either.
The reason why I don't read those isn't the same as with books on historical persons, those I avoid cos they feel to real. I just google and then I know how they will die.
I did read a book about a real person, but Dancer was a work of reality clouded in fiction, and that is why I liked it. Though I did google to know. A reason why I always will avoid things that has do do with real people. As for celebrities, there I just say no.

to each his own i guess! :-)
ReplyDeleteI have no desire to read about celebrities either :). Just doesn't sound interesting.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the thing about celeb memoirs? they are never written by the celeb themselves. It would be more interesting if they were.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I'll read a celeb memoir. I have Princess Diana's on my tbr list. It depends on the celeb.
ReplyDeleteB,
ReplyDeleteI don't think I would ever be interested in reading a celebrity memoir - but then again, I'm not much into biographies either. I like to be firmly planted outside of reality. :)
Have a wonderful day.
M
Marie
ReplyDeleteExactly, it's more fun that way.
Amy C,
My thoughts exactly, I don't see the point to read about them when there is so much more fun stuff out there.
CJ,
Yup, written by someone else, and some might just make them more interesting too
Linda,
I see your point, I think if you were to read one I would go for someone I'd actually like to read about.
Michelle,
We are alike then, reality is not for me. i don't want to know what happens. And I do know everyone dies but in books I don't see that, while in biographies, reality bites.
I don't read them either. Celebs
ReplyDeleteNow I don't mind these, especially if it someone I have alwasy admired. But it really is a personal choice.
ReplyDeleteI am not into reading bios or anything like that. Unless it is someone I have really admired or did great works in their life, but then, I am like you, I would just google it and do my own research. I just dont care for it. But nice Booking through Thursday!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a wonderful day!
I am not interested enough in any one celebrity that I would read their memoir. I will read author memoirs. I enjoy those. :)
ReplyDeleteI read a biography on David & Victoria Beckham. I also read the memoir Silent Partner. I don't mind them, that is as long as it's someone I'm interested in.
ReplyDeleteIt would depend if I was interested in a particular celebrity, otherwise I don't really go out and look for them. I prefer fiction.
ReplyDeleteI read them occasionally, if it's someone I like or am interested in. Some are really good, I went through a real phase back when I was in high school and read a lot of them. Some of the best were by David Niven and Lilli Palmer. Recently I've read Valerie Bertinelli's which I really liked and made me want to meet her some time and just kick back and have a glass of wine together and chat! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI don't read celebrity memoirs very often either. I'm more interested in past figures from history or people that have overcome something terrible.
ReplyDeleteThere's been a few I enjoyed reading but I still lean toward nonfiction, especially for health. Blodeudd, I love your headers-sometimes I stop by just to see which one you have - luv em :D
ReplyDeleteBluestockings,
ReplyDeleteWho needs them :)
Scrap girl,
I do like my fiction to much to read any.
Cecile,
Thanks, have a great weekend!!
I always google, and no, they are just not for me. I take those vamps any day over a celeb memoir
Missy,
Good point, if I were to read anything, perhaps if Tolkien has something. Still wouldn't be that into it
Barbara,
As long as that, I guess I am just not that interested in any celebs to wanna know more
Yvonne, I am with you on that one
julie,
Hm, I have no idea who that is, yup gonna go google her, lol.
But that must have been a fun feeling, if I were to read a book I would like that too.
Staci,
That sounds so more interesting, I am more into that too if I have to read something real.
BevE,
Lol, how nice :D
I do love changing them, cos I have a passion for pre Raphaelites. Those paintings are magic.
I don't read celeb memoirs either but I have to say that I might want to read the bio about Michael Jackson.
ReplyDeleteI love your new header!
Thanks ladybug,
ReplyDeleteAye I do like it too, it's one of my fav pics
