Things about me - The Dip Files questions

This is started by Hilda @ The Dip-Files

The rules are simple:

1. Post these questions (with your own answers) on your blog.

2. Come back and leave a comment with the link back to your post.

3. Answer the questions as honestly as possible.

4. Have fun!

Let's start this thing then!

Foremost, what’s your name? I'ts Linda, Blodeuedd is just my alter-ego

What is your favourite word and why? I have no idea, no not really

What is the hardest word for you to pronounce? It depends, all words, in all languages can be tricky at times

If you had to choose one meal to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be? (Includes one drink):Pasta, you can never go wrong with some yummy pasta

If you had to choose one book to read for the rest of your life, which would it be? (I know, I’m mean!): Well I have to go with my all time fav book, Magician by Raymond E.Feist, I re-read it every year, but I haven't this year, what a shame.

Hypothetical scene: You’re invited to a huge party where all your favourite authors are going to be at, but you are only allowed to speak to one of them. Who would you choose to talk to and why? Can we have a ghost over too, cos I wanna have a look inside Tolkiens brain. He created such a great world, with history, mythology and language. I aim to be like him

We know you like blogging, but what else do you enjoy doing? Books, haha, you would never have guessed ;) But ok I love movies, most genres too. And tv, yay, I am waiting for the fall to watch Dexter, Supernatural, Chuck, Smallville, Merlin, dr Who and more again. Some lost favs are Dark Angel, Firefly, Farscape, SG1 and Reaper. And so gonna check out the Vampire Diaries. I also enjoy writing letters, and writing on my books, even if I haven't done that in awhile

Do you speak any other language? If so, which one? If not, would you like to learn one? Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian and Danish, some German, a tiny bit of French and Estonian. Oh and of course English. Ok I know that it sounds like a lot but honestly I have no head for languages, it's just our way here.

Hypothetical scene N˚2: You’re trapped in a dark room, haven’t eaten for days and are starting to stink. Your only salvation lays within ten feet from you. It’s a huge spider (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets size) with the key to the door hanging from its neck. Do you go get it or do you doom yourself to death? Well the other alternative is death so I will give it a go, even if i get eaten in the process...though I HATE spiders.

If you could move anywhere in the world and be given tons of money in that specific monetary unit, where would you go and why? Ireland! Even my boyfriend knows I am a sucker for the accent, hm, perhaps it's best that I don't go then ;) I love the music, the language, the country. I so wanna visit one day

So there you go, something about me.

  1. I am so impressed by your knowledge of other languages. The British are so bad at languages. I can't speak any other than English and I know that is bad.

  2. I keep meaning to do this too.

My younger brother loves Raymond E. Feist. I've never read any of his work, but he swears that his books are the best! Maybe I should read something of his. Is the Magician the first book? I remember Sam (my brother) mention that one. I think that one may be his favorite also.

  3. Wow, I'd say you speak a lot of other languages! The languages you speaks, that's wonderful, in my IMHO.

I miss watching Dark Angel, that was one show I was home for, always, even on a Friday night.

Enjoyed your answers, thanks for sharing. :D

  5. Vivienne,
That's not bad, I mean the situation here is that we have 2 official languages, and then everyone learns English too. So that kind of sets it already in elementary school.

    Amy,
Not all his books are the best, but I do adore Magician, it's the first in The Riftwar saga, it can be read as a stand alone novel too. And it's so his best book, I must say your brother has excellent taste in books :)

    Donna,
I do miss Dark Angel too, such a cool show. Well at least I have the DVD box. Why can't they make something fun like that again.

    Mandi,
Just saw a picture yesterday of Dexter and the baby, I am so excited for the new season. I can't imagine how he will tackle everything

  6. Das sind echt viele Sprachen.
I would love to learn more languages but it's so time-consuming.
I've got a few books of Raymond Feist at home(boyfriend's property)- perhaps I should give them a try.
    Have a nice day,
    Susi

  7. Wow, the language skill, it may be your way but still pretty impressive!! Let me tell you about the time I visited my sister (who lived in ireland for 2,5 years)Can you imagine me, flying for the first time, standing on the airport in Amsterdam and having announced: Due to fog these plane's have a delayed exit time. Of course my plane was among them, hence I missed my plane in Ireland that would take me to Sligo. So I sat there on the airport for 5 hours as my sister traveled in her beat down car to come pick me up.

I was in a perpetual state of extacy cause the accent oh oh what an accent those men have...I said nothing and I just listened LOL

  9. Susi,
Lol, yes I guess they are a few, but you knew many too.
Boyfriend has good taste in books, maybe one of them are one of the better Feist ones, worth checking out :)

    Leontine,
    Thanks.
I can totally understand just sitting there and listening. Once I was reading and the news was one, and then I heard this oh so sexy voice. Looked up and saw a 70 year old Irish man standing in a field, but hey cos of that accent he could have looked like Shrek and i wouldn't mind ;)

I'm with you on the Irish accents. Meow!

  13. Dar,
Well luckily 3 of those languages are so closely related that if you get a tiny bit of knowledge into the other two then it's easy. But I have sure struggled with one of those languages I mentioned

    Linda,
Yes do we not have the best name :D
Hehe, oh yes meow on the accent

  17. It is so great to read your responses. What a gift to be able to speak so many languages. That is so impressive. I love pasta also..any kind, anytime.
Getting inside Tolkein's brain would be an amazing journey, I agree.
The Irish sure do have a great accent.
Thanks for sharing a little bit about yourself Blodeuedd!

  18. Thanks for stopping by Wisteria :)
Oh if I only could meet Tolkien, how fun that would be

  19. I think Americans are bad with languages, because no one I know speaks anything but English. Except for one friend but that is because she was raised bi-lingual (Italian) That's one languauge I would love to learn.

We like almost all of the same shows! Merlin, Chuck, Farscape, SG-1, I could go on and on. Looking forward to Satrgate Universe too!

förlåt it took me so long to check this out!
    Hur är det anyways?

Great answers (: And really, Ireland???? I'm a sucker for the accent too! *drools*
Have you watched P.S I Love You? Gosh, the guys are so sexy LOL

That's as far as my Svenska goes! hahahaha
I hope I at least wrote it right (:

Cheers mate, ha det så bra!

  22. Hilda,
Hej, men vad bra du är på svenska :)

Lol, you sound like I talk sometimes, half Swedish, half English. I am so used to using English online that I now do it in RL too.

Relly good Swedish from your part.

Oh I love Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and him in Ireland, grrrr ;)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Linda,
verkligen? Tack! (I don't know if that's correct)
But unfortunately that's all I know for now =[

Uh, I know what you mean! I do the same. I speak spanish to people I'm supposed to speak english to, and chinese to people I'm supposed to be speaking spanish to, etc. So annoying! Languages are complicated that way. But I love them (:

Jeffrey D. Morgan is so handsome indeed! And I also like the other guy from the movie - the one that dies. =) hehe

We should totally go to Ireland and find ourselves our own Jeffrey LOL

  24. Hilda,
Everything right so far :) I am very impressed. I am sure you will know more soon enough. Just ask if you ever want to learn something.

By now my friends are used to it so they don't mind that half of what I say is in English.

Ah Butler, now a fan of mine, though I did just see a trailer with him and so wanna see that movie.

    Haha, we sure must
