Library Loot - September 30th

Library Loot hosted by Eva and Marg
asks us to list what we brought home from
the library this week.

Yes, I finally made it back to the library and got a book :) I have been wanting to read this for a while and made a suggestion to the library and they got it.

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
Told in Kvothe's own voice, this is the tale of the magically gifted young man who grows to be the most notorious wizard his world has ever seen. The intimate narrative of his childhood in a troupe of traveling players, his years spent as a near-feral orphan in a crime-ridden city, his daringly brazen yet successful bid to enter a legendary school of magic, and his life as a fugitive after the murder of a king form a gripping coming-of-age story unrivaled in recent literature. A high-action story written with a poet's hand, The Name of the Wind is a masterpiece that will transport readers into the body and mind of a wizard.

  2. B,

I'm glad you got your book. :) It is wonderful that you have such a great relationship with your library. The one and only time I suggested a book to my library - I was denied. LOL What can I say, small town living. :)

    Have a wonderful day.

  3. Okay, I need to move by you... And go to your library!
My library is probably like Michelle's library... they probably would not do anything to help us get a book. It is wonderful that you have a relationship like that with yours!
Sorry I have not been around lately =(
I hope you are having a great day!

  5. Hi!
Sounds like an awesome book! I'll have to check it out. My library has what they call an inter-library loan system. They usually can get me the book I want. Which is great! Have a great day!

  8. Aimee,
I am looking forward to that :) I do wanna start it soon cos I need some good fantasy.

    Michelle,
I could have hugged my library. I don't send many requests but they do tend to take me up on the fantasy ones. I have gone with books I have known in the past but this was another way to try it. I am glad they decided to buy it. Dunno if paranormal would get the same response.

    Cecile,
Lol, nah you would starve, sure they get some, but since I want English books only these days. Not so much to go after. But they can do listen and I am glad cos of that. Cos I know they have their budget and books they want to buy, but still listen to us too :D

    Nina
Old, not good, well depending on them but I know what you mean. Luckily my library do buy new English books. Not as many as English ones but they do buy them

    Sherri,
Hm, perhaps that is what we have..dunno what you mean but here the library can borrow books from other libraries. Of course a little fee.

  10. How nice that the library was able to get it for you. I think I need to take a break from checking out books for a while so that I can catch up with reading books from my own shelves.
