When Grace Sheridan returns to Los Angeles to become a working actor, it's a second shot at a life-long dream. With some help from her best friend and agent, that dream could become a reality, but at thirty-three, has Grace missed her chance at the big time? Will an unexpected sizzling romance with the entertainment industry's newest 'it' boy shine an uncomfortable spotlight on her life?
Alice Clayton spins a playful and erotic May to December romance in this, her debut novel. Clayton's funny, borderline neurotic heroine is perfect in her imperfections, and the off the charts sexual chemistry between her and her charming, yet blissfully unaware leading man are the true heart of The Unidentified Redhead. With laugh out loud dialogue and a super steamy romance that will get your heart racing, sneaking around in L.A. and dodging the Paparazzi has never been so fun.
My thoughts:
My ebook week is continuing, I have read nothing else for 1,5 weeks now ;)
I was going back and forth whether to give it a 3 or 4. As I really liked the first part and I giggled like crazy. But the later parts of the book was mostly them boinking each other to oblivion. And I really liked the silly beginning. I am so weird sometimes.
Anyway this was fun chick-lit. Woman meets man, man is famous, and almost 10 years younger, rawr. Grace was fun and I did see myself in her, ahem..potty humour, well it's funny! And together with Jack they were witty and oh so cute. That was all I wanted, cuteness and fun and this book sure delivered. It did not try to make them something they were not, they were silly and proud of it. At least not I do not feel alone with my lame jokes and laughing at certain things.
But yes the smexing was just insane, a bit too insane for me, coming like 17 times? Ok, her poor poor vjay jay. It must have taken a serious beating. But hey they were in love, in lust and going at it like rabbits.
Conclusion:
But at the end I wanted more, cute and fun is all I ask for when it comes to chick-lit/contemporary romance and that I got here. Bottom line is that I do not care that it was actually written as some kind of ode to R.Patterson.

And yes I have a new blog button. The blog about the sued blogger got me worried. I did do all the right things. I found a bookcover that I, I checked who had painted it and emailed him. He answered and said that I was free to use it. But then I sent the image and he could not remember it. He said it looked like his stuff (he has been doing this for 35 years so..) but that someone has perhaps edited the pic. So he was not sure. I emailed the publisher who told me that it was his work. Dead end. So if anyone know who made the pic I had before, the riders riding up to a castle, do tell me. I do fear that information will be lost forever :/ So I went pre-raphaelite instead.
:( about your other image.
ReplyDeleteI love it! But when I can't be sure :/
DeleteFortunately this avatar was created at an avatar site, specifically for such use. And my other avatar (Wordpress, Goodreads) is my own photo of Mayhem's eye.
DeleteI did find a pic someone made for me long ago, a really cute elf :) But I will be sticking to Waterhouse's reading girl
DeleteSounds like the book was a bit uneven for you. It happens.
ReplyDeleteThat article made me change my clip-art avatar! All I need is to be fined or sued for some stupid little picture on my blog. . .
That is why I go with a painting painted 150 years ago and with a version of said painting that is safe
DeleteAn ode to RP? That's interesting...
ReplyDeleteGlad that it made you laugh, thats a good quality to have.
thanks for review,
Brandi from Blkosiner’s Book Blog
Lol, so not really twific, instead Patterson fanfic ;)
Deletei usually don't read contemporaries, but this sounds so good
ReplyDeleteit was fun and cute
Deleteooooo, perhaps I should change mine, now I'm worried. :/ Better to be safe then sorry.
ReplyDeleteAh, poor girl probably had to get therapy for her vjay jay. Yikes. Sounded like a cute book though.
Lol, they were crazy at it, I mean honestly, that thing would have been hurting as hell
DeleteYour review made me giggle. This sounds like a fun read. Sorry about your pic..it does look like you did all the right things though.
ReplyDeleteI tried :/ But what to do when you hit a dead end. And the artist was so cool, he said I could use any of his pics if I wanted
DeleteLMAO! Yes, Jack and Grace couldn't seem to get off of each other. I think they might be werebunnies. But I loved this book anyway! It was so fun!
ReplyDeleteLol! I think you are on to something here, yup, def werebunnies
DeleteThis sounds like a fun read. 17 times?!! Lol
ReplyDeleteI must have missed the post about the blog button. That is scary!
It was around on twitter, she had used a photo from some photographer and had to pay
DeleteOh I have this one and I'm curious about it. AND can I say... you gave me a much needed laugh... poor vjay jay! ROFL!!!
ReplyDeleteI think that girl would have had trouble walking in real life lol
DeleteThis sounds good. I just added it to my wishlist.
ReplyDeleteI'm scared about the sued blogger too. I don't know what is okay and what isn't, but I'm going to change some things on my blog too.
I just went to photobucket and erased everything except for covers :(
DeleteThat makes sense. So, covers and graphics given through blog tours are okay? I'm thinking of taking everything else off.
DeleteI guess it depends on whether the blogtour hosts asked for permission if they use anything
DeleteI have two books so I think I'll know one day on another how it is lol. thanks for the review.
ReplyDeleteI"m sorry for the button. So difficult. I'm finally glad mine was created by a specialist, but I know I need to write at the end on my blog where the images came from.
I got book 2 also, but I will save that one for later. I have to return the library e-reader soon
DeleteMy poor poor pic
Hmm not a book meant for me. And I am sorry that your pic is gone. I have no idea how to find out who has made a picture or photograph.
ReplyDeleteAnd when I try to google I only find the picture at a wallpaper site :/
DeleteI really enjoyed this one. The second book is also entertaining.
ReplyDeleteYay, good to hear :D
DeleteI'm out-of-the loop on the suing issue..good grief!
ReplyDeleteOf course I knew you can't use pics, but suing! She made no money of it, and with some pics you do not know
DeleteIt was an ode to R.Patterson?!? Eww... maybe I wont read this book....
ReplyDeleteI guess she fancied him
