Author Interview/Giveaway and Review: Romancing the Soul - Sarah Tranter

Today I have a short interview with author Sarah Tranter, and a giveaway of her new book. Open to  everyone :) And then at then end of this, the review of said book.

1. Tell me about yourself... :)
Thanks so much for inviting me on here. I’m a mum to two boys (10 and 7) and live in Wiltshire. Before having children I worked in politics and public relations. Writing fiction was something I’d dream of, but didn’t do anything about until I was involved in a car accident. It then became my escape and before I knew it, I’d written No Such Thing as Immortality, my debut novel. From that point there was no turning back because I’d caught the writing bug big time.

2. What was the inspiration behind your new book, Romancing the soul?
It was a ’what if’ that kept popping into my head. What if two soul mates were to meet during a past life regression. It was very persistent and I had no choice but to explore it further.

3.  Do you believe in past lives? And even if you do not, what do you think you could have been in another life?
Good question! Umm. Yes I do believe in past lives. I think LOL. Perhaps that’s why that ’what if’ was so persistent and ensured the book had to be written.  I can’t help but think that past lives provides an explanation for all that deja vu stuff and for instantly liking or disliking people on first meeting. I take comfort in the idea that we might be surrounded by people we’ve encountered before, that past loved ones are around us now. There were a few things that my boys said when they were young, that fuelled my belief. I believe in heaven, too, though. I don’t think they have to be mutually exclusive. But I’ll shut up on all that because I’m at risk of sounding a little silly

As to what I might have been? I hate to think. I was actually past live regressed as part of the research for Romancing the Soul. If it was a genuine regression ― and the jury is still out on that one ― then I’ve a couple possibilities because the process put into the equation two past lives. I was a man in one and a young girl in another. The regression was such a strange experience. Some ’memories’ seemed extraordinarily vivid. Whilst I questioned the validity of what was happening at the time, I do find myself regularly thinking back to what I appeared to recall, and there’s no question what I experienced does feel like memories. I tell myself I should go again, but three years on, I’ve still not plucked up the courage.

4. What are you working on right now?
I’m working on the remainder of the No Such Thing series. I’ve a few other ideas that are screaming to be explored, which I can’t wait to get stuck in to.

Thank you so much for having me! I really enjoy your posts.

Thank you!

And now on to my review!

Rachael Jones hasn't exactly chosen an average career path. She's a past-life regressionist and is now hoping to help her clients find their Soul Mates through reconnecting them with their past lives.

But despite her best intentions, there are problems. Rachael made the mistake of regressing her best friend, Susie Morris, who has since been haunted by events that occurred in her past life.

When Susie meets Hollywood actor, George Silbury in unlikely circumstances, she is completely unprepared for her reactions. There's an intense mutual attraction that neither can explain nor ignore.

Can George help Susie to overcome the sense of desolation she feels as the result of her past life regression, or will history's habit of repeating itself ruin all chances of her finding happiness?

My thoughts:
I liked how the plot unfolded in this one. But then I did always loved past lives stories.

The heroine is Susie, who does not believe in love after her friend showed her a past horrid life and now she is all tormented. There is no true love, and she certainly does not believe in past lives either even though she saw it.

Our hero is George, a world famous actor who is super hot! He is dragged by his sister to Rachel (who showed Susie her past life), meets Susie and the scene is set. The romance is a crazy whirlwind. He is totally utterly in love with Susie. While Susie has a hard time believing it, I mean he is hot and famous, she is no model. I do get her fears.

But on their side is Rachel and George's sister Cassie. And through them we also get the whole past life story and what really happened then. There is also something very sinister going on. There is a darkness over their love story and they will not have it easy. It sure got me mad at those who stood in their way. Just let them love!

Conclusion:
Two loves reunited in another lifetime for a chance at love again.

  9. A very interesting idea, Sarah.

I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to let myself be transgressed, if that's the word. After reading your book, though, maybe I'll change my mind.

Thank you for interviewing Sarah, Blodeuedd.
