Interview and Giveaway: Catherine Mann - Free Fall

Today's interview is with Catherine Mann, and there is a great giveaway at the end.

Welcome!

1. Could you tell me a little bit about yourself?
CM:  I have to confess, I’m not so good at talking about myself.  It’s much easier for me to talk about my characters (or my family or my pets or my foster pets).  So maybe that sums me up – I write for Sourcebooks, Harlequin and Berkley.  I’m a military wife, mom of four, and spend most of my spare time volunteering at my local Humane Society.

2. Your new book is called Free Fall; what's it about?
CM:  FREE FALL is book 4 in my ”Elite Force” series featuring Air Force pararescuemen.  Folks have been asking for Jose ”Cuervo” James’ story and this is it!  Here’s the official story blurb:

Pararescueman Jose “Cuervo” James is committed to his job and not much else. He thought nothing could change that, not even sexy, smart Interpol agent Stella Carson. Their affair burns hot and fast, but family is everything to Stella, and Jose just can’t go there. His family demons are too deep, too tenacious.

The demands of their work make it easy to stay away from each other, until a fateful mission deep in the African jungle unexpectedly throws them together. With Stella’s life on the line, uncovering the truth about Jose’s fears and her tragic past might destroy the spark between them, or gain them a second chance at passion and forever…

3. What is your inspiration behind this romantic suspense series?
CM: My husband served in the Air Force for over 20 years.  His service and that of so many of our friends offers endless inspiration for stories.

4. You have written lots of other books. What is a typical day at your house like? Write, write and write?
CM: LOL!  I’m a type A, on-the-go-person.  My day is a hodge podge of write, tend to foster puppies, brainstorm with my critique partner Joanne Rock while I load the crockpot, write, toss in a load of laundry, proof edits, run errands, write, help kids with homework, write, get ready for supper and realize I forgot to plug in the crockpot, order pizza, crash w/my family in front of the TV w/pizza while I read a writing contest entry....  Sleep.  Repeat.  I love my life!

5. What is coming next from you?
CM: Coming out next month/April, look for book 3 in my ”Alpha Brotherhood” series – PLAYING FOR KEEPS, Harlequin Desire.

6. And now a tough one, name the best book ever written (in your opinon) ;)
CM: Wow, tough one doesn’t even begin to sum up that question!  I have favorites in all genres – it’s like comparing apples and oranges!  How about this?  Since we’re talking about military romantic suspense novels, I’ll pick my favorite military romantic supsense – that would be Suzanne Brockmann’s UNSUNG HERO.  I do have a lot of favorites and enjoy chatting with readers.  I can be found online just about every day at:

  16. I have been in love with Catherine Mann books since I won a complete autographed set of the Spec Ops books during a charity auction. I still have them on my treasured 'Keepers Shelf' along with every other book of hers I've bought. I have Free Fall sitting in my Kindle waiting to be read and can't wait to get started, but it will have to wait one more week :(. I know I won't put it down if I start reading and I've got to much homework too complete.
