Last Dance - Jeffe Kennedy

It was five minutes. His hand on the small of her back. His eyes watching like there was no one else in the crowded club. His body a breath away from hers. A kiss full of heat and need and promise.

But then the stranger disappears. And Charlotte Emory can’t forget him. Worse, according to the dating Rules she and her four best friends swear by, all she can do is post an ad online. No names, no numbers. Just a missed connection – and the hope he’ll meet her, and see where another dance leads.

Except Mr. Mystery has his game, too, and he isn’t playing for only one night. He tempts Charley into a daring exploration of power, lust, and suspense, where even the most innocent requests sound indecent…and the indecent ones make her burn all night.

If she plays by the Rules, they’ll never get past teasing each other. But rules were made to be broken…

My thoughts:
Charlotte follows a few dating rules, and I must say, they do make it harder to meet guys cos she seems to diss them fast.

This story is about her meeting Mr Mystery, and frankly, he did push a few of my buttons. He was a bit stalkerish (but there is a reason). He played by his own rules to show her her rules were nothing. I got how he was how he was then. Her rules made it near impossible to win so he had to do what he could. Still, he was weird, even if I forgave it in the end.

Lots of smexy times, and as you know me skimming those. But yes loooots for a novella. So you guys will love that. A bit more  E romance than Contemporary romance.

Conclusion:
See the game player get played by her own rules.  A short passionate tale

  3. Ugh, I really hate these headless covers. Makes me think it the Highlander movies where everyone is having their heads lopped off. Probably not the right book for me, not into stalkerish type guys.

    1. LOL! But yes I hate them too.

He is not creepy stalker, it all makes sense later on. She plays a game, he plays a game

  6. Hm... well, if you can forgive his behavior, then I do think I can handle it. I can see this one being on the edge of me yelling to kick his arse. :D

  8. I am a much bigger fan of contemporary romance than I am erotic. I don't need a bunch of sex scenes to enjoy a book. I will probably be skipping this one.

    1. Me too. I like the romance, sure they can get it on, but I do not need page after page

  11. At first this sounded sexy, but yeah after a while I can see where the unsettling stalker vibes start to creep in. And I guess her rules aren't that great if they tend to backfire on her so much.

  13. The sex scenes get old after a while if overdone. I have to have some character depth and feelings to make them resonate.

    1. Maybe I grew up with too many Cartlands or something. But they never did impress me

  14. Yeah I really don't like novellas that have too much sex scenes in them, because they are short enough, I want some emotion and decent plot.

  15. I'm a traditionalist when it comes to romance. This one just might annoy me.

  17. I've read a few of her contemporary books. I agree that they are a lot closer to erotica than her fantasy books. I really love her writing style. Great review.
