Dystopia/YA

My thoughts:

It has been some time since I read a dystopia. Here everything is dead cos humans are stupid. Sigh, do not mess with nature! We sure know how to destroy things. And yes the world turned to crap. People that are lucky hide behind walls. Beyond them it is every man for himself. Cos either you starve to death or the beasts kill you. Sucks being you!

And to this Fiona awakens without a single memory. She does have a tattoo, just like the beasts. So little by little we learn why there are tattoos, and what the beasts are and why the world went to hell.

Fiona is lost, so you can't blame her for making mistakes. She really does not know a single thing. Though to be honest, yes there will be romance, obviously, and that sure happened fast, but hey at least there is no triangle ;)

She needs to figure what is going on. She needs to survive and the worlds needs saving. I did enjoy it since I wanted to know why things were as they were.

One thing though. Trading with honey? Everything is dead. I'd rather have some real meat or chocolate. Who cares about honey? I have not had honey in a year. Give me chocolate!

Even though there is another book this one wraps up fairly nicely. It felt like we could be happy and leave it like this. I did feel that was a nice touch. No evil cliffie lurking, but still there are things to be done.

A good steady voice, I liked her male and female voices. Nothing felt overly male or female. I really do not have more to say. She was good, the book worked perfectly on audio and I do feel it should be listened too, rather than read. Cos then the little things wont bug ya.
