TMST. Review books

Tell Me Something Tuesday is a weekly discussion post on Rainy Day Ramblings where Rainy discuss a wide range of topics from books to blogging. Weigh in and join the conversation by adding your thoughts in the comments. If you want to do your own post, grab the question and answer it on your blog.

May 15th: Are most of your review books for publishers or are you reviewing books of your choice?

At the moment, yes. I quickly did the math on the last 30 books I read and 2 out of 3 are review books. This mostly now that I read a loooot slower, and most books I manage are audiobooks, and those tend to be review books (or the awesome audio sync ones! They have been gathering dusts for years but I have managed some now).

And those book I get to review are those I have chosen so in the end I do review only books of my own choice :D

Except when Carole and I do a joint review, lol. Also, those will come back, but I am having technical problems as S loves to watch youtube and hit my tablet where the book meant for April is.

Last week it was spring, this week SUMMER :D

  1. Does Luci like S? He seems to tolerate her at least.

I'm 50/50 with review books right now. It was close to almost 100% review a few years ago but I'm working on balance.

  2. well I confess it depends because I easily ask books on netgalley lol

  3. I request a few books from NetGalley that are already on my wish list. I mostly read what I want these days. I used to accept every request that was sent to me but reading started to be a chore and that's no fun. So I pretty much just read what I pick now.

  6. I wish I can as fast as my speed right now. I'd have more time to read non-review books. Sigh.

  7. Most of my review books are ones I choose, I'm always promising myself I won't get any more and read ones gathering on my shelf! But somehow...

  8. Most of my books are review books too. Luckily a lot of the books I do want to read are actually from publishers, or my TBR would be exploding.

  10. I think my personal or library books is about 25% of my reading, but I don't feel badly about the other 75% being review books b/c most are ones I would have read anyway. I will still take books now and then that I'm not familiar with author or the book, but I keep it to a minimum.

  13. Honestly, I am really trying to balance our my review books with my own books or audiobooks. Ever since I joined the romance package on audible, I have been listening to a ton more audiobooks lately, so its more half and half right now.

    1. Omg, yeah, I know if I joined that I would never have time for review books anymore, lol

  14. I'd say I'm 90+% review books, but they are almost all books I would have purchase had I not gotten the review book. As for audiobooks, I'm about 50-50. Love Luci and S!
