I liked the narrator. She got the different voices well, men and female, young and old. And we do have 4 main characters to keep track of.

Alice had a bastard of a husband, and now she is free. And now way she will marry again. Poor Alice, she never knew any kind of love or kindness for him. Then she gets blackmailed, and must help a young woman find a lord to marry.

Ok, was it good blackmail? Yes, it was. The ton is a cruel place. And it was not Alice's fault. But than damn husband of hers.

Lucy is the daughter of the man blackmailing Alice. And sure, she is cranky and mad, cos hey, marry a Lord? No, they are asshats. And together with Alice she is a great team!

Yes, we do have the men too. James is a sweetie who will make Alice see that love is amazing. And Gerald and Lucy will butt heads until they fall in love.

A sweet story, with more than one happy ending

Alice, Lady Charlton, is finally free of her dominating husband, but on the verge of her new life, she is trapped when a blackmailer threatens to publish letters that could ruin her. To protect the secrets of her past Alice must find a lord for his daughter, Lucy, to marry.

Alice reluctantly agrees to find the girl a noble husband but when Lucy arrives, she's difficult and uncooperative and has no interest in her father's scheme. A lord, she says, will only look down his nose at her—and she's having none of that!
