TMST: Blogging platform

Tell Me Something Tuesday is a weekly discussion post where bloggers discuss a wide range of topics from books and blogging to life in general. Weigh in and join the conversation by adding your thoughts in the comments. If you want to do your own post, grab the question and answer it on your blog. Feel free to leave your links in the comments if you are participating.

How did you choose you blogging platform?

Omg, no idea! I started in late 2008! I remember being bored and just, dunno looking at stuff? I came across bookblogs and was like wow...I could do that! Maybe one of them had blogger and I chose it that way. I have looked at wordpress throughout the years, but I just find it difficult. Blogger is just so easy and fast. Wordpress it better when u pay for it.

So I guess it was luck that brought me to blogger, and its easy nature that made me stay

  1. Me too, I was looking at all the other blogs and it seemed that blogger was what everyone was using. And it's just little ole me so I can't afford to pay for a platform that blogger gives me for free. :)

  2. Yes, I think almost everyone who started a blog from 2005-2012 or so used Blogger. I did at first. It was pretty easy. It works for you, so why change it?

  3. I actually started with blogger and switched to Wordpress. I had used WP before for another blog, and I think it just made it easier. Boring explanation, I know!

  4. Yaaa that is why I stuck with Blogger. Wordpress is good too but to fully get all the goodies you have to spend money

  5. I did no research and just started a blog on Blogger on a whim. I liked the layout of Wordpress better so I moved over about a year ago.

    1. I did like that, but alas, blogger keeps me

  6. I didn't choose Blogger, I was invited in on the first blog and Waves of Fiction, which I totally run now. I think Blogger is free, simple and easy which fits and I don't want to spend extra time trying to figure things out on something else. We tried Wordpress and it was too hard to switch IMO! It's fine for something that's a hobby. :)

  7. I started with Blogger, got frustrated by something about the code, tried free WP, saw that it wasn't as customisable as Blogger was, started from scratch with a new Blogger URL (I had only published a post or two) and realised it was far easier than I thought at first. Like you, I'm not going to spend money on my blog (at least until I can have one for free LOL).

    1. Lol, I was lucky in the beginning and a blogging friend helped me fix my blog a bit. SO all thanks to her for the look. But still miles easier than wp

  8. I used Blogger at first and it was fine. I think a lot of people were switching to WordPress and I got excited about the added features LOL

  9. I had a different blog on WP but it was free and had literally NO views lol

So when I decided to do it more seriously, blogger was so much easier.
