TMST

Tell Me Something Tuesday is a weekly discussion post where bloggers discuss a wide range of topics from books and blogging to life in general. Weigh in and join the conversation by adding your thoughts in the comments. If you want to do your own post, grab the question and answer it on your blog. 5/31/2022 Do you request ARCs? Why or why not?

Audio ARCS yes. Because I simply can't say no. And I do want new things when they are brand new. Also, while I still do get these opportunities that people want to send me ARCS I will hold on.

But actually going out requesting on my own does not really happen anymore. I did request one for a joint review, but other than that, not really.

But ARCS do not hold they same pressure as they used to do. On time! Those were hectic days. Now I am more relaxed

  1. I am pretty much the same. I don't seek them out anymore but I will take one on (especially audio) if I'm pretty sure I will like it.
And yes tot he no pressure!

  2. Yes, being able to relax while reading or listening is a big deal to me, too, so I only take ones that I think I'll enjoy.

  3. I remember Berkley/ACE would send me finished books every month and I'd never have time to read them, so I would have giveaways. So glad publishers and authors finally embraced digital copies!

  6. I still do occasionally, but these days I mostly get pitched stuff and I write back if it interests me. It's pretty tough to read stuff early these days though, so more and more I do finished copies or audiobooks.

  7. I'm reading all those TMST posts of yours and I can see a pattern here...you're relaxed 😂 😉.

I do request ARCs on NG/EW, but I'm very selective...also, some publishers never approve me because I'm not in the US (while others do, so I still don't get it...).
