DNF time

I tried my best, I loved book 1. But this one was so BORING. Nothing happened. She went to a place, found a halfie. Drama
She went to another place, halfie, drama.
She went, yes you see my point.
Read a review to see spoilers. Oh, that was the end? F it. I am glad I dnf:ed.

I did not like it, and then the rape came. I do not need that as a plot device.

Also this was to be UF, this felt very pnr from the little I read. And we all know I am quite over that. I guess she hooked up with vamp guy at the end and lala forgot her horrid experience.

No.

I started reading and was all this is so boring! DNF
Then I read the blurb, and thought, fine I will push through a bit. But even when she came to the fantasy land I was all sigh, she is rather stupid, they are rather stupid. Why bother.

After Dark with a Scoundrel - Alexandra Hawkins

Young, tender, and highly impressionable, Lady Regan can’t help but be intrigued by her brother’s wayward friends—the wickedly charming Lords of Vice. One man in particular, the dashing Lord Hugh Mordare  (known simply as “Dare” among the ton), utterly captivates her—in spite of his reputation as a notorious womanizer. But when she steals an innocent kiss from Dare, Regan is swiftly packed off to boarding school, safely away from danger…and desire

Five years later, Regan returns—a proper lady and ravishing beauty. Miss Swann’s Academy for Young Ladies has taught her how to behave in polite society. But all the training in the world cannot extinguish her love for Dare. Now, she hopes to beat the master of seduction at his own game—by daring Dare to love her in return. This time, both of their hearts are on the line…and winner takes all.

My thoughts:
A nice, kind of short historical romance.

But I did have some issues at first. Some very disturbing things mentioned. Regan grew up with the Lords of Vice, scoundrels all of them. Ok nothing wrong there. That thing came when Dare thought back about how he stopped swimming with her at 13 cos he felt something...ok euwwww! She was 13, you were 21! I can forgive you for kissing her at 15, but that is still, ok no. I tried to put that behind me so I could enjoy the book.

She comes back at 20 and he does not recognize her at first...whatever.

She wants him, he thinks with his head in his pants and stuff obviously happens. Her brother is very whatever about the whole thing. Not a fan of her brother.

But hey, I enjoyed it... after getting over the euww parts. They have their little dance. There is drama with his family and everyone will live happily ever after.

P.S. Two dots over the o and his name means murderer, so that is what I read it as every time...

With Good Behavior - Jennifer Lane

In a world gripped by organized crime, family dysfunction, and dim hopes of redemption, can true love persevere? For Sophie Taylor, a beautiful psychologist who lost everything when she violated an ethical boundary, and Grant Madsen, a handsome naval officer who sacrificed everything to protect a loved one, finding that love may carry an unbearable cost. Starting their lives over in Chicago, both are fighting influences from their family and running as fast as they can to escape the past. When their paths cross outside the parole officer's door, the attraction is instantaneous. But a hidden connection may not only shatter their fledgling love, but prove deadly to them both.

My thoughts:
Ugh, I forgot that I was meant to write a review, ok let's make this quick.

Sophie was a shrink to went to prison. A rich girl who was stupid and did nothing wrong. Let people help you!

Grant on the other hand was a navy guy from a mafia family. He also made a mistake..LET PEOPLE HELP YOU! So he also went to prison cos he was an idiot.

They meet, start to see each other and falls in love. But oh oh, Grant's mafia family! Oh oh Sophie's secrets.

Seriously people, if you had had the talk then all those issues would have been worked through. Getting help is not bad. Grant's mafia family were so over the top Italian.

The flashbacks, too many! I grew tired of them. Without them the book would have been half as long.

Conclusion:
But hey, all in all, I enjoyed reading this book.

Twice Tempted by a Rogue - Tessa Dare

Luck is a double-edged sword for brooding war hero Rhys St. Maur. His death wish went unanswered on the battlefield, while fate allowed the murder of his good friend in the elite gentlemen's society known as the Stud Club. Out of options, Rhys returns to his ancestral home on the moors of Devonshire, expecting anything but a chance at redemption in the arms of a beautiful innkeeper who dares him to take on the demons of his past--and the sweet temptation of a woman's love.

Meredith Maddox believes in hard work, not fate, and romance isn't part of her plan. But when Rhys returns, battle-scarred, world-weary, and more dangerously attractive than ever, the lovely widow is torn between determination and desire. As a deep mystery and dangerous smugglers threaten much more than their passionate reckoning, Meredith discovers that she must trust everything to a wager her heart placed long ago.

My thoughts:
It's not often historical romance is only ok for me. I am not counting those ebooks I might have given up on. While this was print and I just had to try to finish it. Since it was ok after all, just lacking.

I got a lot of Dare books after having read her first one, but none have been as good as that first one.

In this one, well Rhys is a wounded blah blah Lord who shows up in the village of his youth. There he see Meredith, wants her, and like the next day tells her they should marry. Sorry? What? I think that was my issue. There was no real romance for me. I mean yes she starts to fall for him. BUT, I never felt it. He wanted her. She fell. But I was left wanting.

The drama is that dead guy from book 1 *yawns* and smugglers *yawns* That last part never had an ending, neither had the first.

And now I am out of Dare books, and eh, I do not mind. They just seems to get worse.
