Trust no one - Jayne Ann Krentz

It's no coincidence when Grace Elland finds a vodka bottle next to the lifeless body of her boss, motivational speaker Sprague Witherspoon. The bottle is a terrifying--and deliberate--reminder of the horrors of her past. Grace retreats to her hometown to regroup and tries to put everything she's learned about positive thinking into practice--a process that is seriously challenged on the world's worst blind date. Awkward doesn't begin to describe her evening with venture-capitalist Julius Arkwright.

She has nothing in common with a man who lives to make money, but the intense ex-Marine does have some skills that Grace can use--and he's the perfect man to help her when it becomes clear she is being stalked.

As Witherspoon's financial empire continues to crumble around them, taking a deadly toll, Julius will help Grace step into her past to uncover a devious plan to destroy not only Grace, but everyone around her...

Romantic suspense
For review

My thoughts:
There is nothing like a bit of romantic suspense to put you on edge and making you wonder who the killer is. I of course always fail until it's so obvious that whoever could guess it.

Grace finds her boss murdered. So of course she is one of the suspects even if she has a good alibi. And there is something strange about the murder. It reminds her of another murder long ago. Not to mention it seems someone is after her too! So what is going on? Well, yes like I said before I always do try but can never figure it out, lol.

Julian is someone she goes on a blind date with. He is calm, smart, rich, former marine and someone who steps in when she needs it. Oh and of course they fall in love then. Slowly and good.

I liked the suspense, and the danger felt real. Nothing too crazy. But something (well sort of), that could happen to anyone.

Conclusion:
It was a nice mix of danger and romance.

  1. Oh yes, I always fail at guessing the killer until he practically reveals himself as well. Still, I have fun being wrong:) Sounds like a great read!

It's oddly a talent of mine to guess who did it. But this sounds really good.

    1. It's not that bad, I say she is ONE of the suspects, there are many, and she does have a very good alibi

  16. Yeah I can usually guess the end too, but as long as the book itself isn't predictable I don't mind.
