Contemporary romance

This felt a bit different, but I grew to really like it.

Liz has liked her best friend Tate for ages, but he has never looked twice at her in that way. Then she gets a new boyfriend, omg this guy was a wacko. He was the one that put suspense in the story, and it gets dark.

And then Tate does see her and want her, ok so this as a bit strange at first, I mean they have been bffs forever, she has has boyfriends before. But hey I guess they had to take that step in the end. Personally I would have been a bit, really Tate, really?! But then she did love him.

So they try to make it work, and all while a crazy person is after Liz.

And it made me realise I missed the last book in the previous series! Since one of the sisters from that one got together with Tate's brother! But yes not necessary to read this new series, but oh no, I missed that one.

Good, suspenseful, sweet, I really do like her books.

Narrator:

I liked the narration. She made it all so easy to follow along. Nice distinctive voices

Tate McGrath just didn’t get it. Why was Liz Scott, his best friend - and the person he relied on and trusted most - suddenly avoiding him!? When he finally tracks her down, he finds her with a man he knows nothing about and she’s been dating for weeks. Suddenly, he can’t make himself ignore her tempting curves and deep green eyes, and all he wants to do is keep her all to himself. What was going on? Could he possibly be...jealous?

Liz had made the decision: stop carrying a torch for Tate and find a guy who wants to be her everything. Tate had always seen her as honest, dependable, smart, kind.... Best friend, not girlfriend! And she needed to give up the dream of marrying the man she’d loved since preschool and move on.

But when Liz’s boyfriend turns dangerous, Tate steps up to help and soon realizes he’s the cowboy hero she’s been waiting for him to be all along.

  1. That does seem like a big turn around but I guess he just need a bigger jolt to make him realize he cares.

  2. Unrequited love is a great trope. But like you, I'd be what? Why now all of a sudden?! I do like the sound of the suspense too. I'll check out the audio. :)

  3. Maybe he finally got a bit protective after seeing her date a complete nutjob? :D And it's nice that this can be read as a standalone, but I always find that these romance series are always linked in some way in the form of a character being someone's sibling !
