New Jersey bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is certain of three truths: People don’t just vanish into thin air. Never anger old people. And don’t do what Tiki tells you to do.
(minus 18 other lines in one epic blurb that was longer than my review)
My thoughts:
What can I say that I have not said before? Nothing, yes that's right nothing!
- Ranger said babe a lot, yawn
- Morelli said cupcake a lot, yawn
- A car blew up on page 5...surprise! More cars blew up, surprise!
- Lola said funny things and was hungry
- Grandma was a hoot
- Steph's parents sighed cos she is hopeless
- Her skips got away *headdesk*
- Someone failed to kill her more than once
- She lusts after Ranger and dates Morelli
Do any of these things sound familiar? Oh yes that is right, that is cos all 19 books have practically been the same book.
Conclusion:
Why do I read them? Well I am clearly an idiot. There was a time when I giggled and laugh. This time around my mouth did not even twitch for a second

I just started listening to this one because I've heard so much about the narrator. So far, she's not impressing me.
ReplyDeleteI did listen to one of her other books, horrid narrator
Delete:( I had heard they lose their steam! DARN IT!
ReplyDeleteIt was all downhill after book 11
DeleteOk, still glad I stopped reading these 4 or so books ago...
ReplyDeleteYou should be
DeleteI stopped reading at book 5 I think... it really is just pure repetition. Thanks to readers like you, I can still see if there's anything worth reading again, guess not.
ReplyDeleteIt drives me crazy but I still read cos I want it to change. But now I do not even laugh any more
DeleteOMG..you made me spew my root beer! This series has been on my wishlist but the number of book already released scared me..Not any more I shall walk away since you have given the best recap of the entire series..EVER! Loved it cupcake!
ReplyDeleteHaha, well it's the truth, that is all that EVER happens.
DeleteAnd I guess it will never happen even though most surely feel like I do
oh gosh, sounds like a bummer.
ReplyDeleteyeah :/

ReplyDeleteawww well your review had me smiling and giggling lol.
ReplyDeleteI've read the first few books and really liked them, I think I'm on book 3 or 4. I'll probably hit my dead end soon enough with them.
Thank you :D
DeleteBack in the day with those books I laughed and laughed. But now, nothing
Aw... but you still made me smile! :) Sorry this one was just the same but I do hope you will like #20. You know you'll read it. LOL
ReplyDeleteI totally will ;) Thank you library for feeding my horrid addiction
DeleteUgh, too bad it seems its the same book over and over. I read the first two Stephanie Plum books ages ago. The thing that made me read them was that they are set in my hometown.
ReplyDeleteOh cool :D It does feel like I know the town *coughs* Well sort of
DeleteHa! I can't stop reading these dang books. They are well... addictive. And I love it.
ReplyDelete:)
Haha, I know!
DeleteOk, this review made me giggle. :-) I do the same thing, I read series when I know full well the author keeps doing the same old thing over and over again, but I can't help myself!
ReplyDeleteIt's bad bad bad, lol. But then I do not buy them anymore, I am not that bad. Cos that would just be silly ;)
DeleteI was interested int his series but then people keep saying that not much is happening anymore and it's getting repetitious so I passed.
ReplyDeleteSometimes they should just let it go.
Oh yes LET it go. Please, or make something happen. It's not fun anymore, not at all. And it makes me sad
Delete>.< I'm sorry dude.
ReplyDeleteLOL - Unfortunately, I know what you mean. I like the series enough (I'm about to start #17 on audio) but...really? They are the same thing over and over. I think I'm sticking with it just because I've read so many already. They are too hard to review, though, since they are the same storyline each time. What more can be said...I liked your list of things that happened...yep, in every book.
ReplyDeleteTotally, what can I say that I have not said before? Nothing!
DeleteEvery time you read one of Steph Plum books you should pay a fine or adopt a puppy. Perhaps both. I think it is a very sensible piece of legislation which should be adopted worldwide.
ReplyDeleteLOL - agreed!
DeleteLOL!
DeleteI think I stopped at #8 or 9. Too much of the same thing. I kept hoping and was always disappointed. I give you credit for hanging in there!
ReplyDeleteI am a masochist, that can be the only reason 0_0
DeleteAs I told you I keep reading them and I understand too why it's always the same because otherwise we couldn't have more books I think. but I confess I wonder how many books she'll do at the end.
ReplyDeleteI hope she will quit soon but come on, as long as she gets money she will NEVER stop
DeleteI think so, and I'll continue to read them all too.
DeleteWe are doooooomed
DeleteBook 1 was fun. But honestly read book 1 and stop and then when ever the last book comes out read that one
ReplyDeleteHey, you like what you like and there's no shame in that! Bring on number 20!
ReplyDeleteBut it's soo bad!
DeleteUh oh... did you like it at all, or were you just bored and annoyed? I have some series like that, too, that because I loved it in the beginning, I just can't stand not reading the next book. You know, just in case something exciting does happen in the next one.
ReplyDeleteI can't say, cos yes mostly I was just annoyed at myself for reading it when it was no good
DeleteAw, sorry this one didn't make you laugh, sounds like she is on repeat and needs to come up with new stuff. 15+ books in a series seems to be pushing it.
ReplyDeleteTotally, but they give her money and she writes the same story
DeleteI got to book 14 or so and then stopped. I think these are fun, mindless reads, but the continuation of the Morelli/Ranger/Steph triangle has gotten old. Just pick already:)
ReplyDeleteI know, piiiiiick! I can't even think Ranger is hot anymore. I am over it
DeleteAwww, not even a smile? Well then, sounds as the series has drawn on long enough. Bummer.
ReplyDeleteTooo freaking long
DeleteI totally understand where you're coming from. I have no idea if I will read this one or not!
ReplyDeleteSigh is my only word
DeleteI'm honestly done with this series until I hear of some really progress.
ReplyDeleteI hear ya
Deletebahaha your review cracked me up. I am not reading this series ;)
ReplyDeleteLol, I am glad someone laughed
DeleteI so loved this series for the longest time but I stopped listening about four books ago I think. Something more major has to start happening or she needs to end this series already.
ReplyDeleteIt just so boooooooring. Sigh, I used to love them
