Takedown Twenty - Janet Evanovich

New Jersey bounty hunter Stephanie Plum knows better than to mess with family. But when powerful mobster Salvatore “Uncle Sunny” Sunucchi goes on the lam in Trenton, it’s up to Stephanie to find him. Uncle Sunny is charged with murder for running over a guy (twice), and nobody wants to turn him in—not his poker buddies, not his bimbo girlfriend, not his two right-hand men, Shorty and Moe. Even Trenton’s hottest cop, Joe Morelli, has skin in the game, because—just Stephanie’s luck—the godfather is his actual godfather. And while Morelli understands that the law is the law, his old-world grandmother, Bella, is doing everything she can to throw Stephanie off the trail.

It’s not just Uncle Sunny giving Stephanie the run-around. Security specialist Ranger needs her help to solve the bizarre death of a top client’s mother, a woman who happened to play bingo with Stephanie’s Grandma Mazur. Before Stephanie knows it, she’s working side by side with Ranger and Grandma at the senior center, trying to catch a killer on the loose—and the bingo balls are not rolling in their favor.

With bullet holes in her car, henchmen on her tail, and a giraffe named Kevin running wild in the streets of Trenton, Stephanie will have to up her game for the ultimate takedown.

My review:
I know some hate them, but this calls for GIFs

Why do I keep doing this to myself?! Why do I read these books?! They never ever change.

Do you want to know what the book is about?
Ranger says Babe a LOT of times, and nothing else. And saves her sorry ass.
Steph almost dies a LOT of times. And she is TSTL

Morelli is all over her, why I do not know as she is a cheater.
She does not choose a man.
Lola is being Lola and saying stuff like Ho.
Grandma is being spunky and grandma.
Step's mum irons and her dad says nothing.
There is a giraffe.
Cars get totaled and I lost count of how many she borrows.
Steph fails and fails with getting her skips.

The End

  1. I gave up 5 or 6 books ago. This series needed to end around book 10. UGH.

  3. I'm a couple books behind right now. I'm ready for Ranger to go off and have his own series and a HEA. Her not choosing is getting real old.

  6. I love your review but no, Stephanie Plum is not a girl I want to meet. The last gif, as it wrote Aurian, says it all. Don't waste your time on Evanovitch's 221 book in this series.

  7. I think I have managed to break away from this series with this book! I have no desire to read this one. I have read the last few even though I haven't enjoyed this one.

  8. I know... but I'm always reading them LOL and I like them. Now I know she won't ever progress in her life after so many books. But I loved her so much, I can't give up

  13. That sucks! I've only read through like book 5 (maybe book 4?), but they were so good that I keep auto-buying them. Should I stop? When do they get bad?

    1. By book 10 you will see a difference, by book 12 I said F%CK! By book 14 I was really tired and the rest are a blur

  14. I keep thinking I ought to try this series, but I think after 20 some books it has worn thin so I am going to skip it. I tried to watch the movie for book one and got about a quarter of the way through and shut it off.

  17. Hahaha! Too funny. Yep, sometimes a review calls for GIFs. I've never read her books, probably won't.

  18. Haha, these gifs cracked me up! Obviously this book was frustrating, but at least you can laugh about it with this giftastic review. :-)

  19. I've taken a pause on this series. I've told myself that I will continue to read it when I hear that progress has been made. That is all.
