10/3/2023 Do you enjoy multi-author anthologies?

Enjoy and enjoy. I can read them, but in the end I do not know if I enjoy them. Like, omg look an anthology! Must have!

If I get one it is specifically for one author alone. The other stories might be good too, or they might suck

  1. I like anthologies, it's fun to discover a new author that way :)

  2. Exactly...I try to get my hands on every one that has a McGuire story in it, but I don't always love the rest...

    1. I always get it for one story, not for the rest

  3. Anthologies are tough. They're a good idea (especially to try out new authors or get a short from a fave) but so few are good. There are usually one or two gems out of 15 duds lol

  5. I typically get an anthology for a specific story of a fav author and have found some others I loved this way, but yes, there can be some so-so books in them, too.

  6. I usually get them for one author as well. Sometimes I'll read a few of the others, but they're usually not very good.

  7. I'm in the middle of a multi-author anthology (which I've been reading through slowly as the mood strikes) and enjoying it for the most part. Some of the stories are better than others. That's often how I find these types of collections. Hit and miss.

  8. It's always a mixed bag. But I've found some great authors this way.
