My thoughts:

Do you know what I hate? Ebooks that fool you into thinking there are 20 pages still to go. No no! Suddenly the book ended and I was all, was that it? There should be a law against that. It's sopcruel.

This book was non-stop action. Good and bad. 

Good that is was non-stop action, so something kept on happening. Bad cos there was non-stop action. I am pretty sure no one ever took a pee break, or had anything to eat except that hamburger on page 1. I was all; spread it out, let them breath. Now there was non-stop action, or talk about the next course of action. And everything happened in the same swamp.

SO yes, duh, non-stop action. Jessica comes out from the underworld, is in a plane crash in a swamp and must find the next bad guy there and kill that person. She is kick-ass, and gets the job done.

But that big bad that happened in the last book is still hanging over her so the next book is sure to be intense. Stuff is going down! It will be...non-stop action for sure ;) Good and bad.

Conclusion:

So yes I enjoyed it, but honestly, I could take a break from the non-stop action for a sec. Let the poor girl breathe and then throw a demon at her. Calm down. It's too intense.

My thoughts:

I would say this book was about her running...running...seeing icky stuff...running...running. Ha, you get the picture. If you are in Hell then you do NOT want to stop and take the sights for long.

So book takes place in Hell, where she meets monsters, demons, friends and foes. But mostly she is running and hiding. And trying to find her brother before he is killed. You have to call her brave, cos to venture to Hell..hell no! Especially not after the Prince of Hell wants to put you on trial. But then Jessica is not the kind of supe to back down.

Though one thing was foolhardy...a scene in a bathroom. I mean hello, you are supposed to be running! Run you fools!

The action is non-stop. There is always someone behind the corner. And the end, well more non-stop action is promised for sure. Poor Jessica, I am sure she would like to put her feet up and just chill with her cutie for once.

Though, again, maybe a bit too much happened. Let her breath for once too.

I liked the end, cos something was messed up...and it's promising. More crazy stuff to follow, I am sure.

Conclusion:

Non-stop action.

My thoughts:

I know I should not let silly stuff bug me, but omg the text was tiny. I do have the attention span to finish a book in a sitting, but that is cos at least I turn the page a lot. Here it took a while and I was all booored. I got issues.

But that was not all that made this one not as awesome. I just do not know. It felt a bit like the air has gone out of the balloon, it used to be  hilarious. Now it's more, ok, she is funny again. Whatever. I mean I can't blame it all on the tiny text can I?

Sure Angel is still cool, but, I am tired of the Saberton company. The zombie struggle. I still liked the book, it was good. I just fear it will go downhill from here. Like, the next book is only ok 0_0 Aye that would make me sad.

The Vamp Queen ends up owing Jessica, but what Jessica doesn't realize is just how soon she'll have to cash it in...

My thoughts:

I did enjoy it, it was good, but at the same time it left me a bit cold and it feels like I am still going after how cool book 1 was.

I think my biggest problem is that a lot happens, but at the same nothing happens cos most of the book took place in like 5 minutes (not really but hear me out). Everything happened fast, boom, then another thing, boom, tiny fight, boom, another tiny fight, the end. Just too fast and way too easy. She met a lot of friendly people that helped her and she is over cos uber-strong and perfect and I get these Mary Sue vibes.

But it was good action, getting close to Roarke. Interesting turn of events. I do want more. I only hope that book 4 will be awesome again cos if not (book 2 was not awesome either), then I might just give up. Some series I can read even if they never hit awesome status. Some, eh.  I just wanted more.

Review: Hot Blooded - Amanda Carlson

It hasn't been the best week for Jessica McClain. Her mate has been kidnapped by a Goddess hell-bent on revenge --- but Jessica is playing for keeps. Because she's the only female werewolf in town...it comes with its own set of rules...and powers.

Aided by two vamps, two loyal Pack members, and one very reluctant human, Jessica must rescue her man while coming to terms with what being a wolf really means.

All in a day's work for a girl.

The second novel in the Jessica McClain series is a full on action adventure featuring one angry Goddess and plenty of monsters, demons, and a few newly risen beasties...

My thoughts.

It was good, just not as good as book 1. I think it was cos of the storyline. They spent it looking for Roarke most of the time and well...even if things happened, not so much happened. I guess I wanted another kind of scenery too.

But Jessica is still cool and kick-ass. Though I must say that with all these new powers she is in danger of going very Mary Sue. But I do wonder about the prophecy.

We did not see her mate a lot :/

Her brother and Danny are nice. I might even like Roy soon. Naomi was cool too.

The evil goddess was evil, just a bit cliche'. Get over it woman.

Conclusion:

Good is good, I just hope book 3 is back to being book 1 good. Cos that one was awesome.

Review: Blooded and Full Blooded - Amanda Carlson

Jessica McClain was born the only female in an all male race. The only problem is-she's no wolf. Called a curse, a witch and the Daughter of Evil by the superstitious wolves, Jessica decides to fight for her freedom, at age nineteen, the only way she can-in the ring. 

When she's brutally attacked right after her fight, is it enough to finally earn her freedom off Compound, or will she be forced to endure the hatred even longer . . . 

My thoughts:

I usually do not care that much for novellas, because they always make me want more. And not in a good way. Instead it's in the too short! I need more! way. But here it worked, I felt that this could stand on its own and it did make me want more. This time in a good way.

It starts with a fight. Jessica is fighting for her life, she is human, he is a wolf. I felt so sorry for her as everyone (well almost) hates her and see her as the bringer of doom. So they bully and fight her. And she wants to get away.

It was an action filled novella that brought all the players to the table and I swear, I need so see some of these idiots die slowly and painfully.

Conclusion:

More please

It doesn’t help when Jessica begins to realize she’s more. She can change partway and hold her form, and speak directly to her wolf. But the biggest complication by far is that her alpha father can't control her like he can the rest of his wolves.

When a mercenary who’s been hired by the vampires shows up to extract information about the newly turned werewolf only days after her change, they find themselves smack in the middle of a war and there's no choice but to run together. When it’s up to Jessica to negotiate her release against her father’s direct orders, she chooses to take an offer for help instead. In exchange, Jessica must now swear an oath she may end up repaying with her life.

My thoughts:

 The prequel promised something good and that it was. A heroine who is the only female werewolf in the world. There just are no females. Which means a lot of men hate her, and fear her. What a premise of a story, I like it.

Jessica is a PI (yes you know that happens a lot in UF), she did used to be a cop too, but got an a_hole after her. I so hated that guy. So now she solves crime and hides away from weres and the supernatural community. Because she is something that should not be. She is kick-ass, cool, but yes always trying to keep under the radar. Which is not easy.

In this book she transforms, yes she can actually become a wolf. Not good, the men will hate her more. People are after her, the pack is unhappy, the cops shows up and it's just none stop action.

There is also a bit of passion. I will not say more but it sure turned things around at one point. Lips sealed.

Conclusion:

I wonder what she will bring to the world, what is going on? The end was a bit of a cliffie and yes I want more. It was a very good start and I could not put it down.
