Best of November + booktrailer

Hi All!

This is just a fun little meme that Carole and I are going to try  and do once a month. Give a little shout-out and "badge" of honor to our favorite book and movie of the previous month. This month we'll share our favorites of November.

First, favorite movie:

Carole's choice is......Cowboy Bebop The Movie

"Good story, good baddie, fantastic music, and the art is lovely. A good film even if you never watched the show. It felt good revisiting this movie after all these years."

My choice is...................xXx: Return of Xander Cage

"Sigh, I can not find any good movies! SO best for this month goes to XXX Return of Xander Cage. Because action is mindless fun. It was not a good movie, lol, but it was a fun and one that kept me watching."

Next, Book favorite:
Up first is my pick............Spellslinger by Sebastien de Castell

"Best book goes to Spellslinger by Sebastien de Castell. It was fun, light, interesting fantasy world and just what I needed! Go read it now!"

"Can't help but love a good murder mystery with a strong cast of characters! This was fun and I enjoyed the ride. I hope Fanny gets to solve some more crimes!"

My Tv Corner
This month I binged on Rick and Morty, to be fair I started in Oct but finished in Nov. OMG, best show eva! Pickle Rick! Ricklantis! Damn!
I want s4!

Best of October with Carole and I

Hi All!

This is just a fun little meme that Carole and I are going to try  and do once a month. Give a little shout-out and "badge" of honor to our favorite book and movie of the previous month. This month we'll share our favorites of October.

First, favorite movie:

I selected..............Spider-Man Homecoming

"Another meh movie month. I will go with Spidey cos at least it kept me entertained and it was a good Spiderman movie. Funny ya know."

Now, Carole's choice for the month is.......................The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

"I didn’t really watch a lot of movies this month because of us moving. Not a lot of free time! Next month, hopefully, will be better. I’ll give the best movie to “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”. It is a classic and super scary and gross. If you love horror movies, this is a required watch. You can’t call yourself a horror fan unless you watched some of the old stuff that set the pace for future movies. Very gory, very scary and creepy. It is a 70’s movie so it was cheesy as cheese on cheese day. You have been warned ;) Even with the cheese, it is still a good watch. "

Now, favorite book:

First, here is Carole's pick.................................From Beyond by HP Lovecraft

"I had a couple really, really good reads this month. So hard to choose! Mhmmm…I think I’ll say “From Beyond” by HP Lovecraft was the best in October. Yes, it was short, but it was soooooooo good. It was a great read especially during the Halloween season. Honestly though…you can read it whenever and it would still be good. It was so creepy and bizarre!"

Now, here is my choice this month.................Nice Dragons Finish Last by Rachel Aaron

"Omg another month with best book going to an audiobook! Yes this month i was impressed with Nice dragons finish last by Rachel Aaron cos it was funny. :)"

Tv this month:

"Bountyhunters in space"

I binged on Killjoys and I liked it :D But now I have to wait for s4, boohoo. Baby S liked it too, she is turning into a sci.fi fan hehe.
And Fancy from the series even liked a tweet on twitter, yay, oh the little things

Best of September

Hi All! Happy September!

This is just a fun little meme that Blodeuedd and I are going to try  and do once a month. Give a little shout-out and "badge" of honor to our favorite book and movie of the previous month. This month we'll share our favorites of September.

First, favorite movie:

Blodeuedd selected..............Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon

"As for movie, blergh, nothing amazing this month either. What do even mention? Honestly, I was watching the beginning for Transformers 3 one day and why not, best movie of the month! It is only the millionth time I have seen parts of it"

Now, my choice for the month is........................Annabelle (2014)

"There was no competition this month. I had no choice BUT to pick this one. SO scary! It was so scary BF and I had to sleep with the lights on. That doll....*shudders*....creepy and scary. This was so good though! If you like scary movies this will get you in some way shape or form. That dang doll *shudders and hides under blanket*"

Now, favorite book:

First, here is my pick.................................Dark Mafia Prince by Annika Martin

"Honestly...I didn't at all expect to like this book as much as I did. It was an Amazon freebie...and at best I thought it would just be okay. However, I was wrong...I LOVED this book. The characters were complex and the story even more complex. Plus that  cover and Aleksio? He can kidnap me anytime. haha."

Now, here is B's choice this month.................Asking for it by Louisa O'Neill

"Another audiobook is getting best book! This one was so good, sad and just FUCK I HATE YOU ALL! Damn humans, damn men, boys, women, girl, damn you all for putting this girl through this. Yes it made me angry and I can still hear her thoughts in my head. This is a must read."

Best of July

Hi All! Happy July!

This is just a fun little meme that Carole and I are going to try  and do once a month. Give a little shout-out and "badge" of honor to our favorite book and movie of the previous month. This month we'll share our favorites of July.

First, favorite movie:

For July, My pick....................Boss Baby (2017)

"Bad movie month as always, baby gets fussy in the evenings and never goes to sleep. So July's winner is Boss Baby. It did make me lol and Boss Baby reminded me of Siggi haha"

Now, Carole's pick is...................From Time to Time (2009)

"Not a lot going on Movie-wise this month for me. I had only one good one that I consider worthy of our beautiful trophy. From Time to Time was an interesting film for sure. It had some meaning and made me feel. The ending and big twist was very guessable, but it was still worth a watch."

Now, favorite book:

First, here is Carole's pick.................................Mistress of the Wind by Michelle Diener

"The best book for the month goes to Mistress of the Wind. It was just so good. I didn't anticipate that this amazing book was an Amazon freebie. It was a beautiful retelling of an old classic. I loved the characters and the world. I really want some sort of sequel. It is a for sure a must read. "

My pick is ..................................Gather the Daughters by Jennie Melamed

"The best book of the month goes to Gather the Daughters by Jennie Melamed cos it was so good! It showed this horrible cult and everyone was happy, but when you read on you saw the cracks and so many miserable people. And it sent chills down my spine and that kick in the gut, damn, wtf.  You have to read it."

Best of May

Hi All!

This is just a fun little meme that Carole and I are going to try  and do once a month. Give a little shout-out and "badge" of honor to our favorite book and movie of the previous month. This month we'll share our favorites of May

Favorite movie:

For Carole....CHOKE

"I didn't watch a whole lot of movies, but I must give a special shout-out to CHOKE. Lots of dark humor, deep messages, and characters that are lovable but super flawed. There is a lot of smexy moments going in since all the characters love sex, but hey - it made it even funnier and saddier all at that same time."

For M, I did not have any nominees this month.

"No best movie. I might have watched 2 movies in May. I can not remember which ones."

Favorite book:

My pick is Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

"I read several good books in May.  I read 90% of them in the first 2 weeks when I tried to read as much as possible before the baby came. Not a second to loose! And if I have to pick one I will go with this one.  It was well written, it was an interesting story and it did not fall into too many of the YA traps that we all know. I could not stop reading and I certainly look forward to more."

Carole's pick is The Princess Bride by William Goldman

"I didn't read many good books in May. SO SAD! But I did one book that really shined out and I am kicking myself for delaying reading this book for so long. The Princess Bride was an amazing and must read book. If you loved the movie, you will love the book even more. There is more story-line and more character development. It was awesome seeing the cast in a different light and understanding more about them and their history. I love Westley even more now!!!! Best hero ever!"

Best of April

Hi All!

This is just a fun little meme that Carole and I are going to try  and do once a month. Give a little shout-out and "badge" of honor to our favorite book and movie of the previous month. This month we'll share our favorites of April.

Favorite movie:

For April, both Carole and I didn't have any winners for favorite movies.

Blodeuedd - "As for a fav movie, I do not think I have one. I have watched movies this month but not a single one has left a memory behind. There were good ones, but I can not remember what I have watched! So nothing this month."

Me - "I've only watched a couple of movies this month. I was mainly focused on watching TV shows and reading. None of the movies this month rated above 3 stars...so nothing this month for me."

Favorite book:

Carole's pick.................................Freud's Mistress by Karen Mack & Jennifer Kaufman

"I went into this one unsure, but I came out surprised. It was interesting to see Freud in this light and even though I still don't like him, I appreciated his story with these two women. Minna was a complex and fun character to learn about. For sure an addicting book..I couldn't put it down. "

Bloeduedd's pick is ..................................Tyrant's Throne by Sebastien de Castell

"I had read a few good fantasy books this month so it was hard for me to choose which one was the best one. Yes my best books this month were all fantasy. But this one wins. It was a good end to the series and I could not put it down."

Blodeuedd's and Carole's Best Book of the Month: January 2017

Hi All! Happy Feb!

This is just a fun little meme that Carole and I are going to try  and do once a month. Give a little shout-out and "badge" of honor to our favorite book of the month!

For January, Carole has decided to give the trophy to.........Eidolon by Grace Draven

"I picked this as the book of the month because I could hardly put this down. I enjoyed the first of the series, but this was even better. There was so much going on. So much drama and it really made me feel and think. This is an interesting world and interesting character. I can't wait for more. That is why I picked this for book of the month."

Now, My pick.........................Nothing to Envy  by Barbara Demick.

"I cannot say I had a best book for January. They were all kind of the same. Good, but nothing that was totally amazing. Instead, I will go for the most interesting book, which of course was Nothing to Envy by Barbara Demick. It had me thinking, and it sure made me NOT want to live in North Korea. So that is my pick for January."
