My thoughts:
This is a start to a new series, but Steve was mentioned in the previous ones since he is a firefighter. But he left that town and went back to his family's ranch with his 4 kids. And let the new series begin.

Steve was a great guy. A good dad. And yes a cowboy, and you know that is my weakness in romance.

His love interest is Camille. The local hermit who never interacts with people if not necessary. She is an artist and she is absolutely adorkable! I adored her. She was awkward, but funny. Shy, but talked too much. She was perfect and I liked how Steve looked past all that and saw her. Awww omg the feels guys, the feeeeeels!

So obviously these two were adorable together. I loved how they interacted and tried to flirt and it made me lol so much. He was perfect for her, and she was perfect for his whole family.

There is a bit of suspense, but not that much to be honest. It is more at the end. There are fires, and if you want to know why and be spoiled then read the spoiler. But I warn you, it is a real spoiler cos I have to discuss some things. Trust me, do not read it!

<spoiler>What? I did not see that coming! And wtf he almost killed his niece even if he did not mean too. He was totes creepy watching Camille and almost killed her too. If he is out in 3 months then what says he wont do it again?! Please do not let him be a hero!</spoiler>

But the suspense part was so good, it gave me chills and I can not tell you why, but yes creepy.

It was a great book. I loved seeing them together (how many times have I said that now?). His family were adorable too! And omg, if his brother Joe gets a book, that might just give me the feels too!

The feeeels!
Do listen to it

Narrator Vanessa Daniels
She was great with range, voices and she did a great job. I have nothing bad to say at all.

When firefighter and single dad Steve Springfield moved his four kids to a Colorado Christmas tree ranch, he intended for it to be a safe haven. But he never expected danger to follow them to his childhood home...

Or that he would come face-to-face with the one girl he could never forget.

Folk artist Camille Brandt lives a quiet life. As the town's resident eccentric, she's used to being lonely--until Steve freaking Springfield changes everything. Brave and kind, he's always had a piece of her heart, and it doesn't take long before she's in danger of falling for him and his rambunctious kids. But as mysterious fires break out across the sleepy Colorado town, Steve and Camille will have to fight if they want their happy family to survive until Christmas...

  1. So many awesomeness in this book: cowboys, christmas, romance, suspense. What else could a girl ask for? :D

  2. I totally agree with your spoiler! I hope that doesn't happen in an upcoming installment, because creepy! Glad to hear the audio was good! I read the e-copy but I love audiobooks. Wonderful review! :)

  3. Yea for your love of cowboy romances! Glad you enjoyed - although that spoiler (even out of context) sounds a bit heavy.

  4. Camille sounds awesome! And yes - don't make him a hero....

    1. I mean it might come from there, do not look at me, no idea

  8. I do hope to get to this one. I remember liking Steve from the earlier series and it would be nice to see him get his HEA.
