Cody comes back for Christmas and see the woman he left 15 years ago. And does not recognize her, ok so that I could not believe. They had been a couple and he does not recognize her.
Back to the story. She is his dad's nurse. She needs this job. He is in love with his job, and he obviously never processed the death of his mum.
They meet again, they fall in lust. Then there is some drama that I can not mention, but let's just say he sees dollar signs and not humans. I did want to kick him there. What an asshat.
But they will work it out and live happily ever after
It was a good story. And what they had to overcome was themselves
Narration
I like the narration. She did well with different voices and, and emotions. But then I have listened to her before and always liked her
He left town and never looked back. Cody Ford is a Wall Street honcho with humble Texas roots. This holiday season, he'd be content to just stay in New York and not face his family-and dodge their questions about when and with whom he plans to settle down . . . and if he will do so back at home. But his father isn't getting any younger, and Cody doesn't want to miss any last chances to see him and the rest of the folks back on the ranch. The last person Cody was expecting to see? His one-time girlfriend, Lexi Murphy, who's been working as his dad's new live-in nurse. She never forgot him. Can she ever forgive him? Lexi still holds a grudge against Cody. Back then, the college-bound heartthrob believed he was too good for a small-town girl like Lexi. But now Cody can't help but see her in a whole new light. Could it be that this beautiful single mother with an unbeatable can-do spirit is the one he's been waiting for all along? That depends on whether Cody can prove to Lexi that, this time, he means business-and if a sudden snowstorm can lend just the right amount of Christmas magic to help move things along
Lovely.

DeleteSo is he a cowboy? The blurb makes it sounds like a different book!
ReplyDeleteWeeeell, he is a business man whose rich dad had horses...
DeleteOh yes cowboys for Christmas :)
ReplyDeleteHmm sounds like a mixed bag of a story!
ReplyDeleteOne could say that
DeleteAw, I like a story where the challenges the characters have to overcome are themselves...but it's also a little unrealistic because I don't really believe people can change so much in such a short time!

True, but here well I can believe him cos he still have shot to work through at the end
DeleteI guess he is the Scrooge of the story so not a bad thing for a Christmas romance. :)
ReplyDeleteI guess you could say that!
DeleteThat sounds like a good one.

DeleteWeird....did she lose a bunch of weight or get plastic surgery?
ReplyDeleteNope. She was just 13-15 years older
DeleteYou know how I love my cowboys! Must give this one a go. :)
ReplyDeleteHeehah
DeleteGlad they worked it out. :)
