I watched this one 2 weeks ago and yes it still stays with me. I was a bit afraid, cos the book is great. One of the first English books I ever read, and the movies are...laughable.
But this, the epicness of it all, the beauty, the coldness, the action, betrayal, and that wonderful music that embodied it all.
Great action. Beautiful cinematography, and a lovely calmness to it all, before hell breaks loose.
The only bad part is that arghh, this was movie 1! Damn it, I did not know. The cut the book in half.
Also what is this bullshit about this streaming and cinema in the US? This is a movie for the movie Theatre, I had not been since 2019, but for this I went. At home it will not be the same.
Recommended.

ReplyDeleteYay us, yeah, I was there 2 days after the premiere.
DeleteTheater is a MUST
I've never read the book but I watched the movie with Sting in it years ago. Didn't like it or the story. Maybe I'll give this a try.
ReplyDeleteI tried watching that version again and threw up a bit in my mouth and gave up
DeleteI want to watch this one so bad!
ReplyDeleteIt was amazing
DeleteI was wondering about this. But wait- they only did half the movie???
ReplyDeleteCut the book in half

ReplyDeleteYou have not missed much, though the NEW one, that one is a must see
DeleteI have been hearing about this one a lot. I am glad it was good. I haven't read the book so I am not sure if I should wait until I read the book.
ReplyDeleteHard one, the book is good, but do both
DeleteI need to watch it too!
ReplyDeleteYAS
DeleteI honestly don't know a whole lot about the story - book or original movie - but it looks good.
ReplyDeleteNot enough to get me to a theatre though lol so I'll watch it on streaming.
It's a weird choice though because other high profile movies have been in theaters.

Booo streaming, but yes I get it, I was stuck to my computer checking how many bought tickets and in the end it was 20% attendance, and we were no where near anyone
DeleteMaybe I should give the new DUNE movie a try...I also loved the book, way back when, and remember the old movie—sort of.
