Yay, book 2. Mallory is still stuck in the past and has no idea if she can ever go home. But at least now her employers know that is is not some shady teenager, but actually a 30 year old cop from the future. And that actually went down very well.

Now she gets to work as an assistant to Dr Grey, and with this new case there is a string of men being poisoned. And suddenly the case hits too close to home. Will the find whoever is doing this in time?

Ok I admit, I would like Dr Grey and Mallory to one day find love...with each other. BUT, she is stuck in the body of a 19 year old so that just makes it weird. Dang it, Mallory needs her own body back. But hat will probably never happen. We will just forget about this.

Anyway, I am really enjoying this series. I cant wait to listen to more!

Great narration too , I really feel I am there.

Edinburgh, 1869: Modern-day homicide detective Mallory Atkinson is adjusting to her new life in Victorian Scotland. Her employers know she’s not housemaid Catriona Mitchell―even though Mallory is in Catriona’s body―and Mallory is now officially an undertaker’s assistant. Dr. Duncan Gray moonlights as a medical examiner, and their latest case hits close to home. Men are dropping dead from a powerful poison, and all signs point to the grieving widows… the latest of which is Gray’s oldest sister.

Poison is said to be a woman’s weapon, though Mallory has to wonder if it’s as simple as that. But she must tread carefully. Every move the household makes is being watched, and who knows where the investigation will lead.
