My thoughts:

Oh these two *goes in and shakes them by the neck*. But I understood, I understood.

Asher is finally back in Scotland and settling down as an Earl. He wants to do the best he can. I really liked him, he was crush worthy.

Hannah has been sent to find a husband. She does not want to because she wants to be in Boston protecting her mother and brothers from their stepdad. Yes you can see where this is going.

First there is friendship where he takes her to a pub. Now that was funny. Then they start to fall, but they both know that she has to go back and he has to stay. I kept wondering how they would fix it, I had an idea first, but now, there would still be issues.

So that leaves us with passion, two lovers trying to find away and despairing. Meddling members of family. Morelands showing up. And quite the scandal brewing.

Conclusion:

Fun.

Early Review: Once upon a tartan - Grace Burrowes

Hester MacDaniel is recovering from an engagement gone awry by summering at her brother's holding in the Highlands, and looking after her brother's young step-daughter, Fiona. Tiberius Flynn, heir to the English Marquis of Quinworth, appears on Hester's doorstep claiming he's Fee's paternal uncle, and he's been sent by her English relations to make the girl's acquaintance. Tye believes his brother's dying wishes compel him to take Fee south with him, but he doesn't plan on Hester capturing his heart, even as she fights him tooth and nail for custody of Fiona.

My thoughts:

I said I was sure to read it in a day and so I did. There is just something with Burrowes' romances that makes me wanna read and read and not put them down before I know what happens.

Victorian times, Scotland, and a sad heroine. Hester felt a bit different as she left London in a scandal and is now staying with the McGregors (as her brother in the previous book married a McGregor..and then more, just read it and find out ;). She is looking after young Fiona. Hester was very kind, sweet, curious and getting over what happened. She had a calm over her that I liked.

Tye, oh Tye. I know he meant well. Yes I liked him cos he was all sweet and caring. But he did not always think what was best for Fiona when he came barging in. But still he was so....so, mmm. I wanted him and Hester together, they made sense. And at the same time I knew the drama was coming and was scared. Even though we all know everything will work out in the end.

Conclusion:

Another easy and sweet romance from Burrowes. I like this one the most in the new series. In book 1 too many people fell in love ;)

Review: The Bridegroom wore plaid - Grace Burrowes

His Family or His Heart -- One of Them Will Be Betrayed...

Ian MacGregor is wooing a woman who's wrong for him in every way. As the new Earl of Balfour, though, he must marry an English heiress to repair the family fortunes.

But in his intended's penniless chaperone, Augusta, Ian is finding everything he's ever wanted in a wife.

My thoughts:

Grace Burrowes has a new series out, one with sexy Scots in it, and who am I to say no to that? ;)

Ian is in need of a wife, a very rich wife. He is a good guy and all that, but to support his people he needs money. I did feel sorry for him, as we know from the start that the woman in question is sure not the one he is going to want. No, the pretty young girl has her spinster cousin Augusta with her. Ok so here I think, why go for the older spinster? Well the rich girl in question hides in her room and does not want to get married. While Augusta is near and nice. They fit so good together, they can talk, but yes that dark cloud hangs over them. He needs money. 

There is another thing in this book (besides the when when when!? They must be together!), that makes it thrilling. Augusta's uncle is a real piece of work, I just grew more and more angry with him. Grrr, you'll see, and you will hate him too.

And on top of that there are more hints of romances in this one. Yes passion afoot everywhere. Which made it fun. Whether those will get happy endings or not I will not say, cos I am evil that way ;)

Conclusion:

A good romance with a hint of suspense and mystery.
