Darcy's decision and Courtship at Rosings

This was a short one, I should read more like this.

They get their act together at Rosings and actually talk and fall in love.

There is a tiny bit of drama that all ends well.

Ha, oh the end and what Lady Chaterine does. Good one!.

Ok so this was a really short review. But yes good book.

Blurb
Despite Fitzwilliam Darcy’s better judgment, he asks Elizabeth Bennet to marry him. Instead of retreating upon learning her heart, he decides to use everything in his power to woo her.

In Elizabeth’s mind, Darcy has always been haughty and arrogant. When he approaches her with humility and an apology on his lips, she can barely contain her astonishment. When he expresses his love, she is nearly incredulous. Realizing she has misunderstood the man, it only seems right to give their acquaintance another chance—even if that means accepting a courtship.

Of course, it would take a miracle to change Darcy from the last man in the world she would be willing to marry to the conqueror of her heart. Luckily, the Master of Pemberley can be quite the romantic. However, when Darcy goes missing, it will take more than Darcy’s charm to see these two finally united.

Good and all, but I do prefer my PP stories to be about love. Cos else, nah, I want love!

Now we have how Wickham came around wanting what was his, and caused trouble.

Nice story, but I am def one that wants my PP with romance.

Blurb
Six months after his father's passing, Fitzwilliam Darcy still finds solace in his morning reflections at his parents' graves. Only in the quiet solitude of the churchyard does he indulge his grief. None but his unlikely mentor recognize the heartache and insecurity plaguing him as he shoulders the enormous burden of being Master of Pemberley.

Not all are pleased with his choice of adviser. Lady Catherine complains Darcy allows him too much influence. Lord Matlock argues, "Who is he to question the God-appointed social order?" But the compassionate wisdom Darcy finds in his counselor keeps him returning for guidance even though it causes him to doubt everything he has been taught.
In the midst of his struggles to reinvent himself, his school chum, Charles Bingley, arrives. Darcy hopes the visit will offer some respite from the uproar in his life. Instead of relief, Darcy discovers his father's darkest secret staring him in the face. Pushed to his limits, Darcy must overcome the issues that ruined his father and, with his friends and mentor at his side, restore his tarnished birthright.

Mr Darcy's Miracle at Longbourn - Rose Fairbanks

Less than a month after Fitzwilliam Darcy left Hertfordshire, he regrets the decision. Still, stubborn as they come, he will abide by the choice even if his heart freezes over worse than a December chill.

At Longbourn, Elizabeth Bennet rejects the Christmas themes of unconditional love and forgiveness. In her mind, Mr. Darcy deserves neither and not only for insulting her upon first sight. Elizabeth is certain Darcy is behind her sister’s heartache.

Fate has other plans, however, when it throws them together again and again and again. Christmas magic works on their hearts and minds as the calendar refuses to budge from December 23. What will it take to see Christmas Eve? How many lives need to change?

My thoughts:
I do admit, I am not a fan of the same day happening over and over again. What saved this one (after me being confused for a while, should have read the blurb!) was that things changed a lot.

Darcy and Lizzy sure had a hard time getting together.

Bingley and Jane not so much.

Colonel Fitzwilliam finds something he wants.

Lydia learns something.

Mrs Bennet has a change of heart.

Mary blossoms.

Georgiana puts her food town.

Poor Kitty.

FU Wickham.

And then they all lived happily ever after. I liked that.

I will never ever tire!

Renewed Hope - Rose Fairbanks

Sometimes love needs a second chance. Told against the backdrop of Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy's timeless love story, Renewed Hope continues the story of Sufficient Encouragement through the eyes of three couples experiencing love for the second time.

James Fitzwilliam may be the Viscount Arlington, but ten years ago he walked away from money and prestige to marry a servant girl against his family's wishes. Unexpectedly, she died, and he has spent the time since trying to forget his loss. At last determining to marry with no hope of love, he settles on his cousin Anne de Bourgh - the very lady he cast aside years earlier.

Colonel Richard Fitzwilliam is a celebrated war hero and has loved only one woman. Her plot to use him to entrap his brother, the heir of a wealthy and powerful earl, crushed him in ways even battle could not. Years have passed, but the wounds remain. He knows better than to trust a lady again but is defenseless against the captivating Lady Belinda Crenshaw. Instead of proving faithless, she proves constant to the naval captain she loved who died at sea mere months ago. As Richard attempts to convince Lady Belinda to love again, his plans for retirement disappear.

Caroline Bingley has not always been mercenary and title grasping. Once upon a time, she was a naïve girl who fancied herself in love with a shopkeeper's son with poor prospects due to the colour of his skin. When war broke out with France, he chose to prove his patriotism just as Caroline recognized her family would grieve over the match. Breaking the engagement nearly destroyed them both. Meeting Jacob Truman again could be the answer to all their dreams or their worst nightmares.

My thoughts:
That blurb really told everything that happens...then again, I already knew what would happen. And not because this was a variation, but because these things happened already in book 1. Just in the background because that was Lizzy's and the others story. While here the background people come into light and share their POVS.

Here Colonel Fitzwilliam gets his chance to find true love. Their story was nice, even if Belinda was all no, no love for me! Because she had loved and lost.

His brother Viscount Arlington does his duty to the family. But that story does not really get a conclusion here, and I think Anne really well step up in the next book.

And then there is Caroline, arghh, I hate when I like her. I want to despise her, but here, oh she is tired of it all and she wants to change. And I like her. Poor Caroline. She needs love too, she just have to stop caring about money and power first. Good for her to go for love.

Book 1 and book 2 is sort of the same then. Just from different POVS. We get to see Darcy in the background while he hunts for Lizzy. But it is not his story, it is the other's. Though it did bother me that we sill got no real endings here. There will be more. I would have liked an ending since I already read their story two times.

Side characters needs love too.!

Sufficient encouragement - Rose Fairbanks

Some say a lady’s imagination is very rapid. Such is the case when Elizabeth Bennet overhears that Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy admires her eyes. She thinks nothing for herself, but immediately considers her dearest sister’s growing attachment to Mr. Darcy’s friend. If Elizabeth spurns such a wealthy—and proud—gentleman, he might do everything in his power to separate his friend from her sister.

Raised in a world of expectations and pedigree, Darcy knows Elizabeth Bennet can offer him nothing of material value. As his attraction for her grows, he becomes increasingly convinced his feelings are nonsensical. Still, he might forsake it all if only he had true encouragement.

Misunderstandings lead to betrayals, and the couple soon learns falling in love takes courage but staying in love requires forgiveness. Traversing from the groves of Hertfordshire to the drawing rooms of London to the complexity and danger of Luddite revolts in Yorkshire, Sufficient Encouragement follows Darcy and Elizabeth’s journey of love and forgiveness.

My thoughts:
I liked this premise, because Lizzy knows that if she spurns Darcy then Jane might not get Bingley. Of course this is before The Proposal. They are still at Netherfield and Lizzy is led to believe that Darcy fancies her. Which leads to other things, they actually talking. Talking is good! And her falling for him, which I liked. She tries her best to be nice and it changes things

It also has a really wicked Wickham, and then I do not mean ohh he is so wicked. No, he should be shot.

I also did not like Mr Bennet, not cool man, not cool!
And *gasp* I understood Mrs Bennet.
Bingley had balls for once.
And *gasps* I understood Caroline, oh do not get me wrong, she was a total bitch, but she saw her faults. And she changed.
I also liked Mary. She is a rock.

What a strange book for making me like everyone else that has smaller roles.

Conclusion:
It was a good variation and it was one road I had not traveled before.

A sense of obligation - Rose Fairbanks

A chance, but meaningful, encounter in Netherfield’s library changes everything between Darcy and Elizabeth. As they rush to the altar, Darcy’s faulty memory may destroy their chance at domestic comfort before they begin. Knowing their obligations and no longer resisting their attraction, they forge a foundation of trust and respect. New feelings may not be enough, however, to overcome the misunderstanding which lays between them. Exploring the juncture of sentiment and reason, A Sense of Obligation, takes Darcy and Elizabeth on a passionate, humorous and introspective path toward happiness in marriage.

My thoughts:
I liked this twist. Darcy thinks he has ruined Lizzy and asks her to marry. This all takes place at Netherfield so those other words never happen. Which is a good thing.

Darcy is all noooo! How could I?! But he is such a good man. And he falls in love. Seriously the best Darcy in a long time. I never disliked him. He was always so honorable and sweet. He was never too proud.

Lizzy has a good head on her shoulders, and yes if someone had seen them her reputation would be ruined. Just not like he thinks. So she says yes and starts to like him. And it grows.

They were so sweet together, and I did enjoy the misconceptions.

I also liked how the Bingley and Jane drama played out. And what happened to Caroline, ha! Not to mention about Wickham. Things can change so much with a few tweaks here and there.

Conclusion:
I enjoyed it. A nice different variation, one with a super nice Darcy.

.....................................

When Fitzwilliam Darcy visits Hyde Park with his sister, he expects nothing more than a quiet walk on a fine day. Instead, he meets a young woman who challenges his ideas and pulls his sister out of her melancholy. He soon realizes Elizabeth Bennet is the only woman in the world with whom he could spend the rest of his life.

Elizabeth, clever and self-assured, refuses to change for the sake of gaining a husband, a prospect she finds impossible regardless. With wit and independence rather than fortune, she is entirely convinced no sensible man would have her, and she cannot respect a fool. Can Darcy prove to be this impossible man? Or is a figure from his past an insurmountable obstacle to a future with The Gentleman’s Impertinent Daughter?

My thoughts:
First, you all know of the "incident" last week, and if you missed it, well there was this BBA thing. But I enjoy JAFF, and no one is gonna put me off reading these fun stories. So back in the saddle. And I was gifted this one by one nice author.

I liked how this started. He had time to watch her, and not say certain things. Oh Darcy, I may love you, but you are an ass Sir.

Anyway they meet in a park. He never went with Bingley. They like each other. They meet again. Wickham does show up. But meeting at another place makes such a difference for many things.

A short novella that actually made me like Darcy more. That goes for Lizzy too when I think of it. They were not so proud and prejudiced ;)
But it did make me dislike her mother more, oh that woman.

Conclusion:
And then they lived happily ever after. Fun :)

No Cause to Repine - Rose Fairbanks

When a simple accident is misinterpreted and threatens Elizabeth Bennet's reputation, her fate seems sealed as Fitzwilliam Darcy's wife. While the bride is resigned, the gentleman could hardly be happier until betrayals and schemes threaten to entirely take the matter out of their hands. Overcoming the plots before them will take all the patience, perseverance and collaboration they can muster, but a partnership requires truth. Self-discovery and trust await Jane Austen's most beloved and willfully blind couple as they attempt to master their own destiny in life and love.

My thoughts:
You all know by now that I like my variations :D

Here Darcy is about to propose, when something happens. And they have to get engaged in haste. I liked this, cos it was before he said all those stupid things. Instead they get to know each other, they talk, and Lizzy starts to doubt what she knows about him. Maybe she has been too prejudiced? Yes you have been.

They take things slow, because Lady Catherine is of course angry. Bingley and Jane will get their chance. There is still Wickham to worry about. But this is a nice variation and everyone will live happily ever after. I liked how at the end will learned what everyone did, who everyone married. I enjoyed that :)

It was a good variation. They way to learned about each other, fell in love (Darcy was of course in love already.)

Conclusion:
Variations rock! I hope I never tire of them.
