Review: Alpha - Rachel Vincent

The unscrupulous new Council chair has charged Jace, Marc and me with trespassing, kidnapping, murder and treason. Yeah, we've been busy. But now it's time to take justice into our own hands. We must avenge my brother's death and carve out the rot at the heart of the Council. It's not going to be easy, and loss seems unavoidable, but I have promised to protect my Pride, no matter what. With a target on my back and Marc at my side, I'm heading for a final showdown that can—that will—change everything forever. A showdown I'm not sure I'm ready for. But life never waits until you're ready.

Time for a short review :)

1.) Reasons you chose this book
I have read all the previous ones and of course I had to read this last book since I like this series. And I had to know what happens to all of them.

2.) Reasons you liked or disliked this book
It was a good book, some ass-kicking, sexual tension between Faythe, Jace, and Mark, the birds showed up again. Faythe learns about responsibility and there are some major conflicts.

What I did not like was that the end felt rather abrupt. Everything was suddenly wrapped up, and for me it did not feel like I got any closure. Especially not about her personal life and that was something I wasn't happy about. And I was not happy about...arghh, I can't tell you, but I was not happy :(

3.) Reasons you are recommending this book
I still recommend this series because it is awesome! Just the kind of UF I like. And I am very sad to see it end.

Sorry it wrapped up in a less-than-satisfying way. So that's the end of the series?

Abrupt endings bother me too! I haven't read the first book in the series yet, but I have been meaning to.

It sounds like a good series, too bad this last one wasn't that satisfying.
Nice review ;)

Well, that's unfortunate, that you weren't happy with the last book in the series. :(

Yes, I loved the book but the end was...I wanted more - to know what happened after; an epilogue or something :)

Still one of my favorite series though.

It was just so fast, and I felt like there were still loose ends.

I have noticed that many felt the same way. But anyway, please do read book 1 :D

I just wanted more, but then I always want more :O)

I had just begun to wish for something else and then...poff

Perhaps those loose ends are the start of a spin off series? A new lead character? I haven't read this series but have been meaning too as it is somewhere in my TBR Mountain

I have this author in my TBR and eventually I will get to starting it.

Abrupt endings bothers me too.
I've been meaning to start this serie and maybe I find the time someday :D

Blodeuedd said...

My thoughts exactly, just something more! It was all so..sudden and not final since things could still happen

It's perfect for short ones :)

I heard she is writing something new but nothing to do with these peeps... I think

I am sure you will enjoy them

I understand since its the end of the series so of course you'd want a satisfying end. This is another series that I do want to read someday if only I had more time.

Oh I still need this one. I don't like the abrupt-ness of things. Oh, I need to get back into this series.

Staci said...

Hopefully it won't end there, especially when the author finds out that you didn't like the way she ended it!! :) LOL!

I agree, the end was abrupt, but this was an awesome series!

Oh I hate endings like that.

Now this was a fun way to review a book. Three's a good way to be straight and to the point with a book. I might need to place this series on my TBR's nice to see a series that actually has an end in sight since most of the other series on my TBR list are still being written.

I've yet to read the series. And love all their book covers too!

I hope you try it once day cos I do like the series, even if I wanted more from the end.

It was everything at once and I felt like ok so it ends, but peeps can change their minds tomorrow

I wish!..oh how I wish that

Blodeuedd said...

Awesome it was but everything came too fast, I wanted more :(

Hi Alexis :D
Thanks for stopping by!

For that I liked it, cos I am not a fan of those 20 book series, I want closure! ;)
And I do like this format, since I have reviewed those that came before I just do not have many things to say anymore

I hope you get to read them soon :D

It's a shame it didn't end the way you would have liked. I hate that!

Blodeuedd said...

In a way I liked it, in another way I just though, oh can't say :(
