The Dark Divine Grace Divine, daughter of the local pastor, always knew something terrible happened the night Daniel Kalbi disappeared--the night she found her brother Jude collapsed on the porch, covered in blood--but she has no idea what a truly monstrous secret that night held.
My thoughts:
I liked it. I read it in one sitting, but to be fair it was one of like 2 good summer days this summer. So I was too lazy go go anywhere ;)
Grace was a nice normal girl (her brother was a total angel, not to my liking.) She was a pastor's daughter. Tried to be nice and all that.
The town has seen some weird killings. Oh no, what is going on?
Her brother's old friend is back. Why did he leave? Ohh, he is dangerous. Well duh, this is the old cliche after all, bad boy and good girl.
Conclusion:
But it was fun, and so easily read. The pages just flew up, simple and nice. I liked the story, and the characters. Ok so I am not gonna rush out and buy book 2. I have plenty of awesome books waiting to be bought. But if it fell into my hands (I wish), then I'd def read more.

ReplyDeleteI've read so many mixed reviews of this one. I was surprised to see you read it... being YA and all. At least you liked it okay. :)
ReplyDeleteI know, I was deadsure I'd hate it. But it was light, easy, and I needed that
DeleteSometimes a simple book works for you the best, especially when it is hot outside.
ReplyDeleteNot as hot as there though
DeleteThis was dnf for me. But good to hear you liked it more.

DeleteYou have me curious Linda.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun to read, though i can't quite remember if I picked up the sequel :) Great entertainment, right? Oh, Linda, poor you - just 2 good summer days? You should come visit to get completely sick of the sun within a week guaranteed!!! :D
ReplyDeleteUgh, terrible summer. Worst in decades, I am not saying it, it is true. It has been one of the coldest summers in decades.
DeleteI can always appreciate a nice easy read:) Great review!
ReplyDeleteTotes :)
DeleteSounds like a good hot day read. I totally understand being lazy in the heat! Too bad the mystery aspect wasn't better.
ReplyDeleteStill good enough for me not to go inside and get another book, lol
DeleteHmmm.... sounds like something I wouldn't particularly enjoy. Maybe I'll wait for your review of the next book :p
