DNF: Part Deux

It felt like I read book 1 5 years ago. I could not get back into this book.

And Now to October books. It has been a bad month.

And this one I could not get into either. It did not grab me, and it should have cos it should have been interesting.

Ack, I was so sad over this one! It was dull, it had too many poc changes that I did not care for and I have no idea what it was supposed to be.

This one deserves my entire goodreads post:

If this was historical romance then the author knows nothing about history.
If it is historical fantasy, or alt history, then she should still explain few things.

I am only 1 hour in but so far in the Empire of Britannia, also called England we have Allette, Dirk, Clay, Lizzy, Lydia and Dana...ok how does this make sense?

They eat freaking POTATOES!!!!!!

The vikings are coming to raid and they talk about infiltrating the castle, cos the obvi speak English, what?

The princesses sit around swearing, reading and writing and not really acting like ladies of the 800-900s. But then everything is too modern to be around then, but what about those pagan Vikings? They can not come later. Oh but if it is alt his, yes BUT how come they are still pagan then?

The king has a horse named Pope *facepalm* Oh the pope will not be happy about that.

I give up .

Oh one more! I dnfed it this week, the Queen is back!

    1. You might like it! And I think it would be better in print perhaps

  3. That Viking one sounds confusing. I'm with you- writers need to explain their world and stick to it if they're not doing straight up history and if it's history, keep close to the known facts.

That last one is ringing a bell. I'll have to see if its on my wish list or something.

I appreciate getting your thoughts on the disappointments. Hopefully, November will be better.

  4. I loved Spinning Silver for like the first few chapters...then I agree it became dull. I was somewhat disappointed with it actually, but I did manage to finish.
