This was truly the best book year ever, I found so many new authors, great books and met cool new people. I may have started the blog in December but it was in 2009 it took off.
So why don't we have a little look at the great books of 2009.
I am inventing some categories of my own so all the good books have room.
Best book of the year: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Best book about war: The Cellist of Sarajevo by Steven Galloway
Best laughs: Mucho Caliente! by Fransesca Prescott
Best fictional book about a real person: Dancer by Colum Mcann
Best book I passed by and found out was great: The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie society by Mary Ann Shaffer
Best YA book: Uglies by Scott Westerfeld
Best language and quotes: Angel's Game by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Best fantasy: A Darkness Forged in Fire by Chris Evans
Best historical: Cleopatra's Daughter by Michelle Moran
Best follow-up book: Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
Best genre mix: Soulless by Gail Carriger
Best urban "rural" fantasy: On The Edge by Ilona Andrews
Best urban fantasy: Moon Called by Patrica Briggs
Best going on the keeper shelf book: Poison Study by Maria V Snyder
Best "kept me on my seat" book: Stray by Rachel Vincent
Best cover from the books I have read: Wild heart by Lori Brighton
What can I say, Urban fantasy and YA rules this book year. Perhaps that is what I will go for next year then.
Worst book, well trust me, I started SO many books this year and you will never hear about them.
But as one example:
The book that made me angry and upset: The Kingmaking by Helen Hollick
I have reviewed a lot of books, I have had guest posts by authors and I have held contests. And I hope to give you all that next year too. I actually have a guest post coming up in January, and in February I will have a bday bash.
Until then:
HAPPY NEW YEAR
