Review: Notorious Nineteen - Janet Evanovich

New Jersey bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is certain of three truths: People don’t just vanish into thin air. Never anger old people. And don’t do what Tiki tells you to do.
(minus 18 other lines in one epic blurb that was longer than my review)

My thoughts:
What can I say that I have not said before? Nothing, yes that's right nothing!

- Ranger said babe a lot, yawn
- Morelli said cupcake a lot, yawn
- A car blew up on page 5...surprise! More cars blew up, surprise!
- Lola said funny things and was hungry
- Grandma was a hoot
- Steph's parents sighed cos she is hopeless
- Her skips got away *headdesk*
- Someone failed to kill her more than once
- She lusts after Ranger and dates Morelli

Do any of these things sound familiar? Oh yes that is right, that is cos all 19 books have practically been the same book.

Conclusion:
Why do I read them? Well I am clearly an idiot. There was a time when I giggled and laugh. This time around my mouth did not even twitch for a second

  1. I just started listening to this one because I've heard so much about the narrator. So far, she's not impressing me.

  4. I stopped reading at book 5 I think... it really is just pure repetition. Thanks to readers like you, I can still see if there's anything worth reading again, guess not.

  7. awww well your review had me smiling and giggling lol.

I've read the first few books and really liked them, I think I'm on book 3 or 4. I'll probably hit my dead end soon enough with them.

  9. Ugh, too bad it seems its the same book over and over. I read the first two Stephanie Plum books ages ago. The thing that made me read them was that they are set in my hometown.

  11. Ok, this review made me giggle. :-) I do the same thing, I read series when I know full well the author keeps doing the same old thing over and over again, but I can't help myself!

    1. It's bad bad bad, lol. But then I do not buy them anymore, I am not that bad. Cos that would just be silly ;)

  12. I was interested int his series but then people keep saying that not much is happening anymore and it's getting repetitious so I passed.

Sometimes they should just let it go.

    1. Oh yes LET it go. Please, or make something happen. It's not fun anymore, not at all. And it makes me sad

  13. LOL - Unfortunately, I know what you mean. I like the series enough (I'm about to start #17 on audio) but...really? They are the same thing over and over. I think I'm sticking with it just because I've read so many already. They are too hard to review, though, since they are the same storyline each time. What more can be said...I liked your list of things that happened...yep, in every book.

  14. Every time you read one of Steph Plum books you should pay a fine or adopt a puppy. Perhaps both. I think it is a very sensible piece of legislation which should be adopted worldwide.

  15. I think I stopped at #8 or 9. Too much of the same thing. I kept hoping and was always disappointed. I give you credit for hanging in there!

  16. As I told you I keep reading them and I understand too why it's always the same because otherwise we couldn't have more books I think. but I confess I wonder how many books she'll do at the end.

    1. I hope she will quit soon but come on, as long as she gets money she will NEVER stop

    2. I think so, and I'll continue to read them all too.

  17. Book 1 was fun. But honestly read book 1 and stop and then when ever the last book comes out read that one

  18. Hey, you like what you like and there's no shame in that! Bring on number 20!

  19. Uh oh... did you like it at all, or were you just bored and annoyed? I have some series like that, too, that because I loved it in the beginning, I just can't stand not reading the next book. You know, just in case something exciting does happen in the next one.

    1. I can't say, cos yes mostly I was just annoyed at myself for reading it when it was no good

  20. Aw, sorry this one didn't make you laugh, sounds like she is on repeat and needs to come up with new stuff. 15+ books in a series seems to be pushing it.

    1. Totally, but they give her money and she writes the same story

  21. I got to book 14 or so and then stopped. I think these are fun, mindless reads, but the continuation of the Morelli/Ranger/Steph triangle has gotten old. Just pick already:)

  22. Awww, not even a smile? Well then, sounds as the series has drawn on long enough. Bummer.

  23. I totally understand where you're coming from. I have no idea if I will read this one or not!

  24. I'm honestly done with this series until I hear of some really progress.

  25. bahaha your review cracked me up. I am not reading this series ;)

  26. I so loved this series for the longest time but I stopped listening about four books ago I think. Something more major has to start happening or she needs to end this series already.
