Tell Me Something Tuesday is a weekly discussion post on Rainy Day Ramblings where Rainy discuss a wide range of topics from books to blogging. Weigh in and join the conversation by adding your thoughts in the comments. If you want to do your own post, grab the question and answer it on your blog.
This week's conversation starter:
May 23rd: What do you do when you hit a blogging wall?
I have been lucky to be honest. I have never felt like I want to give up, but I have had rough times. I have wondered why I even do this. Those times I have wanted to try new things (I still have ideas that I never used). But in the end every time I just go back to my reviews. They are simple, they do not take a lot of time. They are there, I love them.
Wow, I am no help at all today. I have seen others hit that evil blogging wall and I just can not help. I have made it through, it has never been that bad. But I do worry it might come later this year.
But breaks to seem to help some. Just take your time, relax, and hopefully come back stronger.

I'm currently in one right now. But yesterday, I managed to write two book reviews! Yay! I think sometimes, you just have to buckle down and do it.
ReplyDeleteWohoo! That is progress for sure
DeleteI've always loved your attitude about blogging and reviewing. It's actually something I always come back to when I feel like I'm hitting the wall so you do indeed help!
ReplyDeleteFor What It's Worth
Aww thanks!
DeleteSince my blog doesn't really have a theme and I just post whatever I feel like most days...I decided to a couple of themed posts on certain days like Mondays are Happy raturday and Fridays are Freebie Friday. At least that way I know what to post on certain days. I also preschedule about a month ahead that way if I run into a wall, I have some time to find something else to write about.
ReplyDeleteThat is a good idea. Cos then you just know
DeleteGotta make changes of some sort when you hit the wall - change in attitude, change in blog content or schedule, etc. Me no longer doing contests because they were a PITA, for example. And no longer doing the Misadventures in Stock Photography, because it took FOREVER and was sucking the life out of me. Etc.
ReplyDeleteI do miss those things, but yes I can only imagine
DeleteMy biggest blogging wall is keeping up. It's hard being a solo blogger, and sometimes I just feel like I need a break. I just keep plugging along, though.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! :)
I get that and that is why I have Carol stop by once a week :)
DeleteI agree. I've been lucky not to have hit a wall TOO bad, but I know it could come. I try to keep it fun. :)
ReplyDeleteKeep it fun is all that matters :D
DeleteI am so glad I have it all scheduled now, I do not even have to think about it :) And yes like you say when I have a hang of it, well then it will be ok
ReplyDeleteI totally agree! Breaks are the best and like you, I haven't hit a blogging wall so I'm lucky that way too. Reading walls are common but blogging? Not so much. :)
ReplyDeleteLucky us :)
Delete:)
ReplyDeleteI think you have found your formula that works for you and that's what everyone must do.
ReplyDeleteI agree
DeleteI've hit a few spots where I was like hmm I should take a break but I don't think I ever really did lol
ReplyDeleteGood that you didn't :)
DeleteI've never really hit blogging walls either. It's just something I keep doing, and as long as I keep the groove, it's just another fun hobby.

Going with the groove :D
DeleteI think its great that you are still cruising steadily along with your blogging. I'd like to think that I help a few solo bloggers out so they don't hit a wall by my guest reviews. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are doing a great job with that! :D
DeleteI've not really either. Some days I don't feel like blogging but I have enough stored up posts I can take a couple weeks off and not worry about it. So it's not too much pressure :)
ReplyDeleteStored posts are the best
DeleteI have not hit a blogging wall. However there are times when I may feel a bit overwhelmed, as I realise it is not easy being a solo blogger.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard at times for sure
DeleteI don't think I've hit a wall but I'm thinking of taking a week off here and there this summer - just to enjoy summer, you know?
ReplyDeleteSUmmer has to be enjoyed :)
DeleteAwww Lucifer is too cute. Taking breaks does help like you say. I also like to participate in weekly memes, I enjoy discussion posts sometimes.
ReplyDeleteEverything that helps is good :)
DeleteMy problem hasn't been that I don't want to blog, it's that I run out of time in a day to do it all. To read, blog, family, work, take care of house, and life things that just keep happening. It's crazy!
ReplyDeleteWell that is a blogging wall too, lack of time
DeleteYes, I find simply unplugging for a bit really does help.
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteI don't read as much because of the end of my Ph.D but I never felt like I had a wall for now so well you're right maybe a break will help too
ReplyDeleteThose are busy days for sure
DeleteI haven't hit a major blogging wall yet, but whenever I get a bit sick of it I just go on a little "vacation" and only read books I know I won't review before getting back into it!
ReplyDeleteThat is a good way of avoiding it
DeleteBack several years ago, about a year in, I hit a wall because I was driven to make the blog bigger, better, etc. But then I realized, I like doing this just because I enjoy it. So I changed my attitude and enjoyed it more.
ReplyDeleteGood change of attitude then :D And yeah I remember the wanting to be bigger
DeleteMhmmm - I hit a wall sometimes...
ReplyDeleteIt does happen
DeleteI rarely have issues too. For me, it is just keeping up with getting the reviews written and visiting blogs (as you can see). I've spent a lot of time this weekend trying to get caught back up.
ReplyDeleteMelanie @ Hot Listens & Rabid Reads
All I do now is visit blogs and answer comments. I would so not have time for anything else, but make time for this. For my own sanity lol
