December 12th Books Disappointments of 2017
I got this one for xmas 16 or for my bday, and this Fall I finally got to it, but blergh. So dull!
I sure had bigger hopes than DNF!
I wanted so much more from this series but it ended with one big boring bang. Total waste of a series!
Why did I force myself to try and finish this series?! I just wanted to know how it ended. Did I? Nope, it was a convoluted mess that I just gave up on.
Do you see a theme? Yes, fantasy often disappoint me the most cos I want more. And this is another series I will not read more from.
I love fantasy fantasy the most, and when it fails it hurts me the most,

DeleteFantasy almost always disappoints me so I rarely read it.
ReplyDeleteI get that
DeleteI have not attempted any of these.
ReplyDeleteNo loss
DeleteI'm surprised the Gentleman book didn't make it on your list. lol
ReplyDeleteHonestly, mostly cos I did not have high hopes, lol
DeleteI'm still so bummed you didn't like the books of the order series. I totally loved it.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... my biggest disappointment of 2017 was Dating You / Hating You by Christina Lauren. I DNF'd. I so loved their earlier stuff and this was bad. But they made it up to me with the recent release of ROOMIES!
I know! I really wanted to like them but the whole series left me cold.
DeleteI still gotta try a Lauren
That N.K. Jemisin series has gotten such great reviews, but for some reason the premise just does not intrigue me. Sorry you had some disappointing reads. Now, moving on to bigger and better ones! :)
ReplyDeleteI have issues with her books. I tend to love the first and then hate the rest
Deleteoh man lots of titles up there that I was looking forward to, so cringe worthy
ReplyDeleteSo not good
DeleteOh I'm sad about the NK Jemisen series. That's on my list to try. Nothing worse than a book you're excited for being a bore.
ReplyDeleteI do not have the best of luck with her books
DeleteSorry these were a disappointment. I hate when that happens, but it does happen too often.
ReplyDeleteThough lately I have been lucky and not had many
DeleteFantasy is tough. I get disappointed more than thrilled lately it seems. And the covers on several of these look fab- I'd grab em!- but sorry they were duds. :(
ReplyDeleteI do want them so much, and then, sadness
DeleteAww, this is never a fun topic, but I could probably fill a pretty big list too. Sad to say, there were quite a few books that didn't live up to expectations for me this year.

Aint that always the thing, sad and true
DeleteSorry these were all misses for you. I don't have any plans to pick up any from this list.

DeleteI don't read a lot of fantasy but what I do read I enjoy. I guess when you read a lot of it there will always be some duds.
ReplyDeleteThat's true!
DeleteOh, I hate it when a I finish a series only to be disappointed. :(
ReplyDeleteI know right!
DeleteI know, I looked at my dnfs and most are fantasy
ReplyDeleteI only tried Karen Memory. It was an ok read for me
ReplyDeleteNot worth more from me
DeleteSorry to hear that the story didn't had an epic ending. I hate when that happens, especially if it's your favourite series. You just want it to end with a big bang. :)
ReplyDeleteCan't say any of these were a fav series
DeleteI tend to expect more from a final book in a series, too.
ReplyDeleteOh yes
DeleteMy biggest disappointment is Crooked Kingdom. I still can't seem to finish it but I hate to write it off since I ordered the pretty boxed set.
ReplyDeleteFor What It's Worth
Is that book 1 or 2, did not make it through book 1
DeleteAlways sad when books are disappointing.
ReplyDeletetrue
DeleteSo sorry that you didn't enjoy these books more. Lots of pretty covers!
ReplyDelete~Jess
AT least they were that
DeleteAhhh book sadness.

DeleteI love the cover for that Red Knight book. A shame it didn't work out. I hope you have better luck on your future books.
