January 23rd: How do you beat the winter blues?
What winter blues? Winter stars in October and ends in April (of course when Baby S was born in May it snowed). At their shortest the sun is up for 4 hours. You have to make the best of it.

March. Skiing is always fun
February. Long walks can be tough
January. Brings the cold
December. You hardly make it out before the sun is gone
Cranky Baby! No Nov. Must go
October. WInter is coming
Brrrrrr! Bring on spring flowers!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThat would be April-May
DeleteOur winter is nothing like that but this winter has been colder than usual. I still make it a point to get out every day so there are no winter blues here either.
ReplyDeleteI do love winter
DeleteYour photos are gorgeous, but 7 months of winter sounds terrible.
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty long
DeleteI can't imagine living in a country that hardly sees daylight in some winter months. However I think that there are some pluses and you show them. I am sort of envious too!
ReplyDeleteIn the summer the sun sets at midnight ;)
DeleteHa! That's the spirit.
ReplyDeleteI think I would love winter if I had your scenery though. IT's always so beautiful.
For What It's Worth
It does make up for it
DeleteSo much snow!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of winter!
ReplyDeleteOh yes
DeleteYour pictures are beautiful. I hope to get the winter experience one of these days.
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely
DeleteI start to get cranky when the days grow short. Winter in October is way too early for me! But I do love the beautiful pics of snowy landscapes :)

But then we have lovely long summer nights
Deletethe winter blues have never really bothered me, since I like the season but if I ever feel down I just go out and DO something to get me out of it.
ReplyDeleteThat's the spirit
DeleteLove your photos of winter. I grew up in California sunshine so now, living where winter is from late November to mid March, is fantastic to me (I'm not a heat person).
ReplyDeleteAwww sunshine! Well that would be lovely too. And heat, ha, I think it is warm at -+20c. That is enough summer for me
DeleteOh snow. I want to see snow too!
ReplyDeleteCome on over
DeleteGreat pictorial look at winters in Finland! So little sun... that would be depressing. We have about 9 hours of sun during Solstice. WOW - that's over double yours and I still feel like it's not enough.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteWell it does suck when it is dark when you go to work, and dark when you get home. And without the snow it is reeeeeally dark.
But we are already up to 6,5 hours od daylight. Gotta move fast so we can get to 20h in the summer lol
So much snow...IDK how you lot don't get depressed! We here only have snow from Nov until March.
ReplyDeleteSnow is pretty
DeleteBeautiful photos. Lets just say that I am glad that winter doesn't last quite that long around here.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteOh winter, how I love thee. We just had a nice snowstorm that brought us 11 inches of fresh white snow. It's a winter wonderland outside! Speaking of...time to take the pup for a walk.
ReplyDeleteAwww winter wonderland :D
DeleteThey are dark for sure, and yes if there is no snow, blerhg
ReplyDeleteI confess that I do get the winter blues, but I beat 'em by drinking lots of hot cocoa and snuggling up with a book!
ReplyDeleteYay hot cocoa
DeletePhotos of you! :D
ReplyDeleteGah, I definitely have the winter blues now - it's SO DAMN COLD and it just goes on and on.
Hihi yes
