March 10th: Do you enjoy anthologies?
I usually write these on Sunday, but I must have forgotten!
Ok, so sure, at times. I never go out of my way to get one. If I find one, then yes, if I am sent one, then yes, but most of the time some are meh, some are good, some are too short.
So...sometimes

I'm with you. Sometimes
ReplyDeleteAye, sometimes
DeleteI never used to like them because they usually have open endings but then a few really great ones came out so I started to enjoy them as a way to try new authors.
ReplyDeleteBut now I only end up liking 1-2 stories out of the whole thing so I don't bother unless it's authors I love.
Karen @ For What It's Worth
Yeah it is not really worth it when I have never loved them all.
DeleteBut for favs I will do it!
Sometimes I do but most times I would rather read a standalone book. The stories in anthologies are usually too short to really enjoy much.
ReplyDeleteShort can be so hard to handle
DeleteFrom time to time but it's not my fave thing
ReplyDeleteThat is the way
DeleteI'm pretty much the same way.
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteI think it depends on the anthology. I tend to like them if they are all from an author that I like but sometimes there are as many bad stories as good ones.
ReplyDeleteI do not read many pf those, but yes those are good
DeleteI'm usually not a fan. There's usually like one or two good stories and the others are just meh.
ReplyDeleteExactly
DeleteI like the ones that are by one author that I already read. Those are the best ones.
ReplyDeleteMakes sense :) I should follow that
DeleteNope, can't really do them! Few short stories engage me the way full length novels do, it takes a very good author and writing :)
ReplyDelete~Mogsy @ BiblioSanctum
Some can do it, some
DeleteThat's pretty much a no for me, I don't really like short stories although very occasionally I break my rule!
ReplyDeleteSOmetimes I need short, and then I read, but yes Id rather not
DeleteI don't mind them, but I don't go out of my way for them unless it catches my eye for an author or theme I really enjoy.
ReplyDeleteSame with me
DeleteWay back in the day, I absolutely loved anthologies, and it seemed like there were quite a bit in the romance genre back then. It was a really great way to meet new romance authors too. Now, not so much. Hugs, RO
ReplyDeleteNow most seem to be b unknowns, and Id rather not, but you are right, there used to be more bigger ones
