8/15/2023 Do you DNF books? When do you decide to stop?

Yes I DNF. It was hard to learn. I used to finish everything, but then slowly I realised, why?! Why read crap books?! When I could focus on good books! But I still find it hard at times and march on even if a book is meh. But most of the time I just DNF

As for when, as quickly as I want. Yes I might have done it on page 1 once or twice. When I know I know

8/22/2023 Have you ever picked up a book you didn't finish/didn't like and ended up enjoying it?

8/29/2023 Which books are you looking forward to reading this Fall? (Sept-Nov)

  1. Yes, I do too. I used to try and power through. Not anymore. Life is too short.

  2. I've had a similar trajectory as you. I used to suffer reading through even the slowest books that never landed for me. These days, I just don't have the time. If I don't gel with my book in the first few chapters, I'm putting it aside. I may return to it when the mood strikes me, but I've got too many other books that I could be reading instead.

  3. Page 1 LOL. But yeah...if you don't click with the writing, it's a valid reason enough, and it doesn't take long to realise.
I DNF a few books this year...review books. Sorry and everything, but they turned out not to be my cup of tea as I thought they would when I requested them. One after a few pages, because the characters sounded shallow and all alike...One after a few chapters, because I realised it was good...but I wasn't enjoying it, so...

  4. I don't believe in suffering through crap reads either, however, I do feel that if it is a review book that you said you would read and give your honest opinion, you owe it to that author to do so. Good or bad.

  5. YOU ARE THE DNF QUEEN lol I'm getting much better at it. Especially with audiobooks. There's no way I'm listening to something for 11+ hours that I'm hating. Physical reads, I tend to at least skim to the end.
