Maybe This Christmas - Sarah Morgan

This winter, ex-skiing champion, reformed heartbreaker and single dad Tyler O'Neil has only one mission—making sure his daughter, Jess, has the best Christmas ever. The fact that his best friend, Brenna, is also temporarily moving into his chalet at the overbooked Snow Crystal resort is a delicious distraction he's simply going to have to ignore. Theirs is the one relationship he's never ruined, and he's not about to start now.

Ski pro Brenna Daniels knows all about the perils of unrequited love—she's been in love with Tyler for years. But living with him is absolute torture…how can she concentrate on being his friend when he's sleeping in the room next door? Then when Tyler kisses Brenna, suddenly the relationship she's always dreamed of feels so close she could almost touch it. Could this be the Christmas her dreams of a happy-ever-after finally come true?

My thoughts:
Tyler and Brenna sitting in a tree, K I S S I N G...oh forget that. Plenty of trees, but no kissing. They are best friends, but damn she wants more.

It was a sweet holiday romance, but it also packed some serious issues in there too. Tyler needs to find the fun in working again as his ski career was destroyed in one awful fall. He has spent a year re-connecting with his daughter, but there is always room for improvement. And the last issue is bullying, which Brenna saw her fair share of in school and the lasting scars are still there.

But now to the fun things! They are best friends, but she wants more. He has always been a total player, while she is shy and has not played around much. She just wanted him from start but alas, he has never seen her like that. Stupid man, she is nice, hot and can ski. Go for it!

Obviously something will happen that takes it from friend to love, and obviously they will live happily ever after. He just needs to see that she is awesome, and she, well she needs to let him.

Conclusion:
Cute, fun, and it made me wish for xmas..now ;)

Universal Alien - Gini Koch

Being the wife of the Vice President isn’t easy. Especially when your talents lie in kicking butt and rocking out . . .

Jeff and Kitty Katt-Martini find out just how easy it is for the wife of the Vice President of the United States to unintentionally insult an ally. Now they have to smooth things over with the Australian Prime Minister, pronto, or risk creating an international incident the worldwide anti-alien coalitions will be able to use to force Jeff to resign and the A-Cs to leave the planet.

But before Kitty can make things worse, a cosmic congruence and a little help from some powerful beings shoves her into another world -- one where she’s been married to Charles Reynolds for years and aliens don’t exist. She’s also landed in the middle of a huge conspiracy and is marked for death . . . but at least that’s business as usual.

Kitty’s not the only one confused, because the Kitty from that world has taken her place in this one. Now Alpha Team and the Diplomatic Corps have to make sure that no one spots that there’s been a switch, while keeping World War III from happening. And they have to do so while keeping this new Kitty in line, because she has views about what to do and how to it, and time is running out.

Can both Kittys save their respective days before it’s too late to go home to the universes they belong to? Or will one Kitty decide to keep the other’s life . . . forever?

My thoughts:
In this book you do not have 1 Kitty, you have 2!! The more the merrier.

We have 2 parallel worlds (there are more, multiverse and all). But 2 Kittys change place and you can only imagine what will go down.

I do prefer the real Kitty world. The other one was sad, and omg NO MARTINI. That is beyond sad. Instead she is married to Chuck. But Other Kitty shakes things up cos things are never perfect when Kitty is around. Someone is after them in that world. It was fun to see Kitty alone for once, but it was also sad...

Right and in our normal Kitty world Other Kitty comes in and is all wtf? But she adapts cos she is Kitty. And she is helpful with a scandal other Kitty caused.

Omg, are you confused yet? Lol. 2 Kittys, 2 worlds. 1 Martini. 2 Chuckies. I have used the name Kitty was too much in this review ;)

A fun ride, it worked eventhough it jumped from Kitty to Kitty. And I do prefer our Kitty, she is kick-ass.

The hunt for the Mastermind is still on too, and we get some answers. I look forward to the next book. The title has me a bit concerned .  I can't wait.

Conclusion:
FUN!

Archangel's shadows - Nalini Singh

In the wake of a brutal war, the archangel Raphael and his hunter consort, Elena, are dealing with the treacherously shifting tides of archangelic politics and the people of a battered but not broken city. The last thing their city needs is more death, especially not a death that bears the eerie signature of an insane enemy archangel who cannot - should not - be walking the streets. This hunt must be undertaken with stealth and without alerting their people. It must be handled by those who can become shadows themselves...

Ash is a gifted tracker and a woman cursed with the ability to sense the secrets of anyone she touches. But there's one man she knows all too well without a single instant of skin contact: Janvier, the dangerously sexy Cajun vampire who has fascinated and infuriated her for years. Now, as they track down a merciless killer, their cat-and-mouse game of flirtation and provocation has turned into a profound one of the heart. And this time, it is Ash's secret, dark and terrible, that threatens to destroy them both.

My thoughts:
Yes, I admit, I missed a few in this series, but then I jumped at reading this one, and it did work. Even if I also did wish I had read the ones I have missed. At least I can say that it does work as a stand alone in that way (even though it's a series and you miss thing), but if you do want to read this series then do start at book 1. I may be many things but I do like order ;)

This is Janvier's and Ash's book. A vampire and a hunter, both on the same side, and both have worked hard to make New York safe.

Ash has issues of her own and I do get her fear and her unwillingness to give in to what she really wanted (him, oh yes.) But she held herself back, foolish woman! But she has reasons :/

And Janvier, oh he really wants this strong woman to be his. So he courts her like he has done for a while but she does not give in. But hey this is their book so you know that there will be a HEA at the end.

There is also the hunt for something strange. Something is going on in the city, something bloody, and they are on the case.

And we get to see Elena's POV, as she and Raphael are being their awesome selves, and also the rest of the gang.

Conclusion:
Lots of action promised as they hunt down a killer. And some romance too on top.
