He'll do anything to save her...
Rebel Lord Drystan Hawkes dreams of fighting for England's freedom. He gets his chance when he finds a clue to opening the magic portal to Elfhame, and he must race to find the slave girl who holds the key to the mystery. But even as Drystan rescues Camille Ashton from Dreamhame Palace, it becomes unclear exactly who is saving whom.

For the fate of humankind lies with Camille...
Enslaved for years in a realm where illusion and glamour reign, Camille has learned to trust nothing and no one. But she's truly spellbound when she meets Drystan—a man different from any she's ever known, and the force of their passion may yet be strong enough to banish the Elven Lords from this world forever.

My thoughts:
This is the third and last book in the series. The Elven rule is to come to an end, or least the rebels hope so. Many years have gone by since book 1 and in this book we meet Drystan Hawkes. The couple from book 2 has raised him in Wales and so the story continues.

Drystan is more of the bookish kind of hero, and I do love a hero who loves books. He is also in love with a woman he has been dreaming of and wants to find her. And we all know that that woman will be the mysterious slave girl. Camille who has been mistreated and does not trust men. It's not a love story that will be easy but true love will always win and their passion can conquer everything.

The book is about these two finding each other, the rebels trying to win the war and the cruelty of the Elven Lords. It's quite the race to the finish line.

One thing I was not too happy about and that was that there was a mention of two other couples that has stolen scepters and I felt cheated. I wanted to read their stories, but I can't since they are not written, and I really wish they had been written. Instead it had jumped over a few important things and come to this point so that there could be ending to it all. Still I liked the book even if I felt like I wanted to read those stories too.

It's an enchanting story about love, passion and magic.

Hm, either take out her or him

  1. Maybe the author will surprise her readers with a few novella so you can get the other characters' stories? :)

  2. Sounds like an interesting series.

  3. Strange that its the final book in the eerie and some important plot points were skipped over. I agree about the cover.

  4. I'm always game for a bookish hero! Especially since he has a bit of the Legolas charm going for him, so take her out of the cover!

  5. Missie
That would be good, I'd like that :)

And you so would not. That I do know

    It is :)

Maybe she was just doing 3 books, but I do wished that those 2 couples would have gotten books of their own

Hihi, yes Legolas with books, now that is a sight for sore eyes

  6. It's Too Smooth Guy with fancy hair! Hmm. Or is that You Can't Make Me Smile Guy? They blur...

  7. I read one other book by her and liked it. I wouldn't mind reading more one day.

  8. I have had my eye on this series for a while Sounds good!

  9. I hate missing out on characters storie..great review and agree on the cover

  10. Maybe they should cut her out and replace her with my lovely face...*laughs* People would think it was a horror novel. haha

ANYWAYS, sounds like an interesting series. I haven't read any books about elves (besides for LOTR), so it would be a change to my reading.

  11. I thought this would be a series I would really enjoy but I tried reading the first book last week and I couldn't get into it, though I now I can't remember why that was.

  12. Chris
Lol, I am glad he is known to you ;) Well almost known

I hope you do one day

The first one has such a hottie for a lead ;)

I did feel cheated. I wanted to know how those couples fell in love and so on.

  13. Carole
Haha, oh you are wicked. I am sure that would make one lovely cover.

I love elves, love love love them. Of course here they are sadly mad. Poor elves, and I who love them so much. But then crazy elves are so much more fun then the boring peace loving kind.

Hm, then I am sadly sure of the fact that the rest would not work either ./

  14. You are kidding me! The last book? I really thought we would get a story about each Fae Lord, and how they are brought down! Well, now I am really not in a rush to read it!

  15. I guess it's a good problem to have - to want to know more about the stories of other characters, but I can see how it would be frustrating given you know this is the last book! Sounds like a fabulous series:)

  16. Aurian
I thought so too but since this book is pretty much an end to it all i fear not

But she can always go back and write them ;)

  17. That's so depressing when a series ends and it doesn't feel final to the reader. Maybe like Missie said they will get a novella in the future.

  18. Karen
I do hope that because those stories seemed so interesting

  19. I read book one and loved it. I can't wait to continue this series.

    Tracey D

  20. i like this cover! love the mix of fantasy and romance that the author does.

  21. For some crazy reason just the thought of elves and romance made me cringe!

  22. I enjoyed your comments about this series. I am looking forward to reading all of them. Thanks.

  23. Sounds like this book didn't round up and close the trilogy with a bang but left some things a cliffie...

  24. Tracey
I do hope you like the rest too :=)

I sure like that too. It is England and at the same time it sure is not.

LOL ;) How come? I think they go perfect together

I hope you like the series!

Well it did end things, it's just that I wanted to know what happened 20 years ago

  25. I'm torn about reading this one. I loved The Fire Lord's Lover but wasn't a huge fan of Lady of the Storm. I loved the world she built but the romances weren't as strong for me.
