My thoughts:

I do like small town romances, but this small town showed its ugly face too. I would not have gone back, those people were idiots! Except for people who were new in town. The old ones judged her for her parents, on how she was home schooled, on how she was a weirdo then. Judging much!? Idiots who have never took a step outside of town *mutters*

Annie is a mummy blogger who comes back to sell the farm. With her is her kid. She is having a blogger burnout, a troll is after her and she wants more.

Sawyer is from the neighboring farm and they had a thing that went down in flames. Oh and his grandma is a cruel witch. 

But Sawyer wants Annie, and does sweet things for her. He does the chasing, she does the hiding. I liked how he did not give up and told people to piss off. But I do hope the town changes cos asshats!

My thoughts:

Yes I enjoyed it this time. Yes I went on and on in the last one that Becky's problems are not funny, but, damn, I missed it in this one!

See Becky had come to realise that shipping is bad. But that made Becky not Becky! And everyone else in the book started to see it too. Without shopping she was a grey blob, so I found myself wishing she would shop a bit...in moderation!!!!! Cos she is still likely to go overboard and that poor kid will grow up like her. BUT, she was dull. Sigh. Yes the shopaholic needs to be a shopaholic.

In this one the drama is SO unnecessary. If they all would just talk to each other then this whole Vegas thing would not have happened. Silly people.

Still it was fun, but I wish this series would end because the books are starting to be fillers.

My thoughts:

Yes I enjoyed it, sadly I only laughed two times. But I enjoyed it, it was light, sort of funny, and I could read it fast. And now I have to tear the book apart.

Omg people! You call yourself friends?! Please some stage a real intervention and pack Becky off to rehab!!! If it was drugs she would be hooking in the streets by now. The poor girl needs help. Not just a stern look or a headshake, silly Becky spent too much money again. Omg the girl needs help!!! And she making her kid like her too, which we saw in an earlier book. This is horrible really.

REHAB!!!!!!!!!

Why Luke stays with her, god only knows. Seriously the stunts she pulls. I would be out of there. She can not change. He "tries" to help, try for real and put her in rehab. Or leave her.

The book were amusing at one point, but these last few, no. There comes a time when I only see the bad things. When the laughs die. Let the series end now, and get the woman some help.

Plot:

Becky and Luke live with her parents since they can't find a house. The country is suffering from an economical crisis, and people have to cut back. Becky wants to shop, her daughter Minnie is out of control and then Becky wants to throw a party for Luke. It's bound to be a disaster.

My thoughts:

The book is fun as always but by now, well I mean it's not as funny because she is an addict and she really needs help. Some serious help. Because even if it's not as bad as before she is out of control, and Minnie is showing the signs of a future shopaholic. So no, addiction is not funny now when this is book 6.

What to say about this one, she is silly as always, she loves a good deal, she hides things from Luke. I do feel for him, and I wonder how he puts up with it. Minnie, she is a little kid so no wonder she runs around like crazy.

This book is no longer laugh out loud, but it still gives me a few smiles, and the ending gives room for yet another book. Where I really hope she will get some professional help.

What I do like are those letters here and there in the book. Becky is sending some financial advice to the government, that is hysterical.

Recommendation and final thoughts:

If you like Kinsella then I am sure you will enjoy this one too, because in the end it is still amusing because Becky is just insane. But I do wished it would have been funnier.

Oh no, feeling a lack of wanting to write a review coming up. No inspiration at all. This will be short.

Ok, so Lara has some stalker problems, that is she is pretty obsessed over her ex-boyfriend. But then at her great aunts funeral she hears something, and she can see her great aunt Sadie's ghost.  A ghost who keeps complaining about her lost necklace. She wants Lara to find it. As if Lara didn't have enough problem with work that is falling apart. Soon Sadie is making changes cos she wants to have fun.

Poor Lara, Sadie sure knew how to mix it up and trust me, she puts Lara in some pretty embarrassing circumstances. Sometimes I just put the book away and smiled a bit, while feeling embarrassed for her. But that is chick-lit, embarrassing moments is a must.

But there is also romance, and not just cos she is half stalking her ex. No, she is being pushed somewhere else, even if she does not want it. But with all her faults, and good sides, Lara is a pretty nice person. The poor guy that comes in her and Sadi'es way is pretty nice too. Sadie is, well dunno about her, she is so happy and, well good at least for Lara. Who needs to find her groove again.

I do like the shopaholic books more, sure I read this really fast, smiled a bit, but perhaps something was lacking to making it into great chick-lit. But as it was now it still was good, and made me happy.

Can I really end here, I just started, but yes lack of inspiration today.

Hm, also a bit of mystery when it comes for the hunt for the necklace, finding out about Sadie's past, meeting Lara's rich uncle, who is not so nice. Dealing with her family who only wants the best for her, struggling with a job she does not know how to do. And with a sprinkle of love and you haev teh book.

But it also something more, about family.

She will be in magazines and it will be so much fun. Now if she only can dump her old doctor. But then it turns out that the famed woman is Luke's beautiful single ex. Could things get any worse. She is not liking her and she is sure that the woman is out to steal her man.

Becky is funny as usual, and I have started to like her sister Jess in this one. Luke, honestly, he is great and all that. But I don't think I would fall for him. But I guess a shopaholic works well with a workoholic.

And her parents are great, her best friend, I love them all. There is great chemistry between all. And they help making it funny.

This is a great chick-lit series, the books are funny and you could dislike her so much. But I don't, I like Becky with her faults and all. She is only human.

I tried to look up if Sophie is planning on writing more about Becky, but I couldn't find anything. Too bad, cos I have enjoyed the ride.

Yes I know how you all were dying to get more chick-lit ;) I finished this one quickly and got the next one yesterday when it came in to the library.

Becky Bloomwood thought being married to Luke Brandon would be one big Tiffany box of happiness. But to be honest, it's not quite as dreamy as she'd hoped. The trouble started on honeymoon, when she told Luke the tiniest little fib, about the teeniest little purchase. Now she's on a strict budget, she doesn't have a job, and, worst of all, her beloved Suze has a new best friend. She's feeling rather blue - when she gets the biggest shock of her life. She has a long-lost sister!

Becky has never been more excited. Finally, a real sister! They'll have so much in common! They can go shopping together. . . choose shoes together. . . have manicures together. . .

Until she meets her - and makes a dreadful discovery. It can't be true. Surely Becky Bloomwood's long-lost sister can't.… hate shopping?

Yup no own blurb here cos this is the 4th one, and I have mostly said all there is to say about Becky and Luke. But a lot of things going on in this one. Becky is on a budget cos she bought everything she could find on their 10 month honeymoon. Luke is working too much and she thinks he has changed. And Suze has found a new best friend. So when Becky finds out she has a sister she gets excited and thinks she has found her soul mate. But there is a problem, Jessica hates shopping and can't stand spending.

Hilarious situations as always, and Becky keeps buying fun stuff, and utter crap. She really should join shop-a-holics Anonymous. But I love her, I can't help it. I would love to have her as a buddy, though oh my how much money I would spend then too. Nope the Becky's better stay away from me. It would ruin me.

This 4th book is just as great as the rest, and I wonder why I haven't read these books before. This one might be the 2nd funniest after the 1st one.

Lovers of chick-lit, read this series. Not as great as Bridget Jones, but she was my way in but compared to other chick'lit books out there that can't even make me smile, then this one is good. It made me smile and giggle over all the follish things that girl does.

Short review today, the 5th one will be coming up too. But now back to my weekend.

Becky and Luke is now living in New York, and Becky has landed a dream job, she is a professional shopper at Barney's. Also, she does get a discount on what she buys there. Not to mention all the other "bargains" New York has to offer. Luke is building up his company, and trying to connect with his mother.

The her old flatmate Suze announces that she is getting married, and they are off to a wedding in Scotland. Where Becky catches the bouquet and inside there is a question..and yes the answer to that question can be seen in the book's title.

Luke ice-queen society mother is planning an extravagant wedding at the Plaza, while Becky's mother home in England is planning a sweet garden wedding. Both at the same day, both thinking their wedding is the only one. What is she to do?


Becky is in a sticky situation in this book, she wants to please Luke's mum even though she dislikes her. But Luke wants to re-connect. And back in England the wedding plans are in motion and she doesn't want to upset her own mother.

There is shopping, but more hidden in this book. She does go a bit crazy over certain tings back in England and that is hilarious as always.

What I love about these books is that it would be so easy to dislike Becky. But the way Kinsella have written it I end up loving Becky instead. Sure she spends a lot of money on idiotic thing, but she is clearly addicted. And she is sweet, and kind, and funny. Hopefully they will do something about that addiction though.

The book is funny, and it's always nice to see her in action. Not to mention that she really seems to enjoy her new job. I miss Suze, cos neighbor Danny is not the same thing. The frosty ice-queen is a good mix in, and I would like more Luke. I feel like I don't really know Luke. Still he seems like a cutie.

The next one, Shopaholic and Sister, well I thought about reading it at once but I will wait until I have shopaholic and baby.

I think this is enough chick-lit for a while ;)

Rebecca Bloomwood has a great job as a financial expert on a TV morning show. But even though she earns more, now she spends more. Her flatmate Suzy tries to keep check on her spending but Becky is rather good at hiding things in her closet.

Her boyfriend, Luke who runs a PR agency wants to start a new branch in New York, and the plan to go over to check out the town. How could Becky say no to this, because everyone knows that foreign money is just like Monopoly money. She is ready to hit the big stores in Manhattan and shop until she drops. But then the big bomb falls, and her shiny new world falls to pieces.


Now I can compare the movies and the books better because the 2 first books makes up the movie. In this book there are a lot of things that are in the movie, too bad no more Finland talk :(

Becky is still shopping and trying to hide how much she really spends. The debts grows again, and there is a new man at the bank and he is not happy. She also in debt to stores, and the credict cards are not happy.

Becky is hilarious as usual, and she sure has problems. The foreign money is like monopoly money sure puts her in trouble. She doesn't confront her problems and buys the weirdest things like cut out letters in woods because she can't say no. She buys it all.

At least she has Luke and is happy. But he is busy with his work, and I do wonder how he doesn't see that she cna't stop shopping....

But the book is funny, and cute. The shopping episodes are hilarious and you have to love her. I can't help it. And the book left me wanting more, and yes I am reading the 3rd book now and will start on the 4th after it.

It is great chick-lit that doesn't disappoint. And if you want you could read this before the first one, but in the end it's more fun to see what she was up to in book 1 and what happened there.

Confessions of a shopaholic

I have been meaning to read this one for years, I even think I started it and wasn't that into it. But now I loved it. After I had seen the movie I knew I had to go back and read these books. By the way, the movie was funny, Isla Fisher was great and the clothes were gorgeous.

Rebecca Bloomwood has a boring job at a small financial magazine. But she has plenty of trendy clothes, she lives in a fun part of London, and she has great friends. And she loves to go shopping.

But her jobs doesn't give her much money, the Endwich bank has been after her for months, her Visa bills keeps on coming, and she tries to cut back. She comes up with schemes that ends up costing more than it was supposed to and she is up to her ears in bills.

Then something shows up that could change it all, but give up shopping, perhaps not....

I started on this book yesterday and finished it this morning. Maybe it wasn't haha out loud all the time, but it was funny, the pace was great, it made me giggle and go oh no! It also made me check out the libraries homepage for the next book, it's in the book mobile and I want to read it. And I suck at street names, lol, I am so gonna call my mum to figure out where on earth those streets are, and if they are near me today ;) I wanna know more about Rebecca's adventures.

If the movie made me want to go shopping than this one makes me want to hide from the stores. It makes me fear I am a shopaholic, which I am not. Sure I love clothes, but I have this nose for 70 %, I even found something at 90 % once. While Rebecca hits the stores for 20 % or if she gets a free lip gloss with it. She buys everything from slippers to skin products to kitchen supplies. And those bills keep on coming.

There is also the love interests, maybe her flatmates Scottish cousin that's a bit strange, or perhaps Luke that gives her 20 pounds for her sick grandmother. Or that is so she can get that cute scarf.

It give me laughs, comical situations, and a warm hearted book about a heroine that just needs that one more sweater. In certain situations I can see myself if I didn't have that self-control, and it makes me love Rebecca.

And there was the Finland angle too, 2 letters in the book in Finnish and that made me smile. of course wouldn't it have been better if they had been translated too cos we got it, but what about the rest...
