Priceless Love - Emma Darcy

Priceless Love
'I dare anything,' Liam Shannon said to Gina, the day he stormed back into her life.

She hadn't seen him for six years - since the day she married his best friend - but now he was suddenly back again in Sydney, making sure she lost the job she needed so desperately, demanding recompense for the pain she had caused so long ago. And now Gina's husband Jim was dead and could no longer stand between them, Liam Shannon was determined to make her his mistress...

Aloha Bride
Julian's proposition came at the wrong time

Alone on what should have been her honeymoon, Robyn felt the tropical paradise of Maui seemed to mock her. Yet she was determined not to be hurt again, and her reaction to Julian was one of anger.

"You came down here thinking you could buy me. And I will not be bought. Not with the great Lassiter name nor your wealth nor power... nor person."

Yet in spite of everything, she found herself wanting to solve Julian Lassiter's problems in a way that was not merely reckless, but positively dangerous!

My thoughts:
Priceless Love
This was so bad it was good, it was soooo cheesy, so over the top, so 80s! And that is NOT a good thing. But I was amused, it was so simple, so silly.

Liam is an asshole. I am not saying that lightly. He stalks her, talks shit to her, ruins her life, is totally obsessed with her. And there is this one line that just made me go all wtf? Omg 80s book! Seriously. You people are whack. He is not a good guy, I would NOT want to be with him, he is creepy in his obsession and omg they NEVER talk to each other.

Gina is the sweet damsel in distress that is so useless and totally lets him dictate what to do. She can not say no, even though she wants too. Sure she has this strange animal attraction to him, but omg you people. I want to kick them both. Especially when she thinks to herself that she if she had wanted to stop she could not had cos he would just have taken what he wanted, great rapey too.

But I read it like in an hour, ha, good laugh

So light, cheesy and omg how easy heroines get pregnant! *shakes head* Bang! Preggers.
In this one we have a hero that is all, I can not love again, but I crave you!
And a heroine who is all, one man hurt me, I will never be with anyone.
They are stupid. They love each other, and they live happily ever after.
How on earth did I read these in the olden days? They are so silly. But yes light...and fast

  1. Oh, Lord. I thought for a second there that Emma Darcy is a character and that you're reading a P & P retelling in an alternate universe. Lol.

  2. I can live with cheesy every now and then, I really can. And if it's also funny, then it has to be good.

  7. Sometimes I cannot bring myself to read older books for this reason. I love the 80s, because...well, let's just say it had a lot of...personality. But so much of it was also cringe-worthy!
