Audio Review: The Christmas Cowboy Hero - Donna Grant

Tis the season for ex-Navy SEAL Clayton East to come home for the holidays-even if the mood at home is anything but festive. His father is ill. The East Ranch is in financial trouble. And now it's on Clayton, the prodigal son, to make sure his family doesn't lose everything. Headstrong Abby Harper is like a mother to her younger brothers, who she's helped raise since she was a teenager. Keeping them in line is no small task while she's also working toward her college degree. And now that one of her brothers has been arrested for stealing cattle at the East Ranch, Abby is at her wits' end. But there is a silver lining: Clayton East. He believes in second chances, and is willing to give one to her brother this Christmas. Letting beautiful Abby-and the inescapable longing in his heart-off the hook, however, is a whole 'nother story. Could it be that the woman of this local hero's dreams has been back at home all along?

My thoughts:
This series was sweet and with a couple that so deserved to be loved by each other. They both needed a HEA. Oh and it was a Xmas book, awwww.

Clayton is an Ex-Seal who comes home to help with the farm when everything has gone to hell. Stolen cattle, a father who is ill and more. He was so sweet and wonderful and yes a true cowboy hero. But with wounds of his own.

Abby takes care of her two younger brothers and does nothing for herself. They are dirtpoor but they have each other. She was great, he whole family was great. But then her brother steals cattle. Which leads to the best thing ever. They all meet hunky Clayton.

I liked how they slowly became friends and then more. I felt it moved in a nice pace and that they truly liked each other.

There is also some suspense regarding the stolen cattle and who was behind it all.

My thoughts:
I enjoyed it and I so want to visit his ranch, it sounds wonderful.

Narrator. Rebecca Estrella
She did do a good job and kept me listening and wanting more. But I did feel her voice was not as strong all the time. But that is me personally. You can not click with them all. But I would still listen to more by her

  3. A Christmas book, we need more of those. Going to look for some at the library (very soon). I love that there is no insta-love in the book, but they slowly develop into something real/steady. Nice. :)

  12. I've read a couple of Donna Grant's books in the past, but because they were part of a series and really connected I didn't really enjoy them as much. This story, however sounds really sweet. I'll have to check it out. Audio version for sure. :)

  13. I didn't know that Donna Grant had contemporary romances. I know her mostly by her paranormal stuff. I still need to try her. Glad this one worked well for you.
