November 28th: Who were the best debut authors you read this year?
Oh this is too hard! I have no idea who is a debut author or not. I do know that Katherine Arden is one so I guess her book goes up here. I really liked her take on fairytales. SO worth it
Ohhh, now I remember! Jennie Melamed. Damn! That book was awesome. SO freaking awesome and dark so effing dark. Just thinking of it gives me chills again.

ReplyDeleteWell I really do not know who was a debut or not
DeleteI'm really bad at noticing those things too. I have no idea what I read this year lol
ReplyDeleteFor What It's Worth
I hardly even remember names so ;)
DeleteHa thanks for the heads up, I have no freaking clue who my best is this year either but I do have a list that I will delve into in December when I make up my best of 2017 list.
ReplyDeleteMelamed and Arden will def be on my best list too :) Melamed might even be THE best
DeleteNow I want that Melamed book pretty badly, thank you!
ReplyDeleteSo good
DeleteThis was a hard one this week so I bowed out since I have a TV show I wanted to talk about haha
ReplyDeleteThey can be tough
DeleteBoth look perfect for me. Debut or not! :D
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteHaven't read either, I'll check them out!
ReplyDelete:D
DeleteI haven't read either author. They sound really good.
ReplyDeleteThey so are
DeleteI really need to look into debut authors I have read. I am not sure its very many.
ReplyDeleteOne does tend to stick to the good old ones
DeleteI loved The Bear and the Nightingle! And you're right about how difficult to tell sometimes if they are debut authors. The most confusing is when they are established authors writing under a new pen name, but the publisher still describes that as a "debut"

Ugh I hate that! I am all oh this author is awesome! Well duh, that is cos I love all her other books lol
DeleteI don't pay attention to whether they are debuting or not, either. I do want to read the Katherine Arden book- wow, a first-timer wrote that...
ReplyDeleteI was impressed by it
DeleteI've heard good things about the Arden book.
ReplyDeleteI've heard really great things about Gather the Daughters. I haven't tried it yet, but I plan to try it soon.
ReplyDeleteMelanie @ Hot Listens & Rabid Reads
So good, dark and creepy
DeleteI loved Bear and the Nightingale! I will have to check out the other book.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the next book
DeleteHmmm... I don't think I read any debut authors this year. But I heard great things about Bear and Nightingale.
ReplyDeleteHard to know really.
DeleteSo good!
I've not tried them but Arden is on my list :)
