TMST

Tell Me Something Tuesday is a weekly discussion post on Rainy Day Ramblings where Rainy discuss a wide range of topics from books to blogging. Weigh in and join the conversation by adding your thoughts in the comments. If you want to do your own post, grab the question and answer it on your blog.

July 31st: What are some popular series you haven't tried or have and stopped because they just don't appeal to you?

Hmmm, what have I not tried...well that Kevin Hearne series about Atticus? I tried listening to it ages ago, but that was before I knew about things like speed and such. I would actually love to go back to it and read it in print.

Well I never did read 50 shades, and I never will.

I gave up on that Sarah Maas series cos it was sooooo cheesy.

Oh I do not know. I will kick myself later when I read answers.

The whole family ;)

PS. I have been away since Sunday if you have not seen me around. It all depends if I have done anything on my phone (but I never remember anything else then blogger pswords ;)

  1. Oh, there are so many series that I have stopped reading because I got pissed off or lost momentum. Like the JD Robb series and Stephanie Plum and the Kim Harrison series and Anita Blake and...

  3. Thanks for sharing I don't have enough fingers and toes to count how many series I want to try. I need to be cloned like 4 times LOL ;-)

  5. The Kevin Hearne series has been really good so far but I am only two books in. I read the first 2 50 Shades books because everyone was telling me how good it was. I didn't care for the first but still read the second to try to figure out what everyone else was getting excited about. That was not a good move on my part.

    1. I was contemplating print or audio, but then print is cheaper so might do that

  6. I haven't read 50 Shades series either, don't plan on it lol

  7. I know there are popular series I probably won't touch and there are others I've set aside. Karen Marie Moning's extended Fever series is the one that comes to mind. I read through book eight and gave up. Oh, and Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments and spin-offs. I read through book four and lost interest.

  8. I'm in too deep with that Sarah J. Maas series to quit now, even though I've lost all excitement for it. Sigh...

  9. I'm with you on 50 Shades. I used to read a lot of BDSM back in the day and many were really good, so I was surprised that none of those were as popular as 50 shades. I didn't read the book or watch any of the movies either. These days, I don't read as many series because of time. Hugs...RO

  11. Another vote for 50 shades will never happen! I had to stop the Fever series when she went basically underage in the romance. The Plum series is getting sillier and sillier yet I just can't give it up.

  12. I'm with you about 50. I may give in and read the first book....but....I don't see that happening in the next 10 years.

    1. Maybe if I am without books, but that one is near and I am desperate

  13. I hope you give Atticus a try!

I stopped reading Ward's BDB (as did a lot of people), as well as Keynon's Dark Hunters and Showalter's Lords of the Underworld. But those probably don't count, as I was several books in.

One series I gave up on after three books (and I really wanted to after two) is Jane Yellowrock. She bugs me and I couldn't get into it. Never did FSOG either.

    1. I really must! I honestly do not know why I haven't!

I do wonder where it counts, cos I have ended a lot lol
