Musings:
The soviets were evil bastards, it sure did not make me like Russians more. But then again, to be really honest, I have never liked them, we have been a battlefield for centuries for them to plunder. Ok, I shall not think about Russia now.
But damn, people just died left and right. They had no good, because the Russians took everything, and I mean everything. They wanted them all dead. It was genocide.
The backdrop is the country dying. And we get to see Yuri leaving his village to make money, leaving behind his wife. The Soviets kill anyone they want, do anything they want and steal every bit of grain they can find. The Ukrainians try to fight back, but that goes badly every time.
I can't say the acting was of the highest order, but it was a sad movie that should be watched. Too many people forget things that has happened in the past.
