Howl's moving castle - Diana Wynne Jones

Sophie has the great misfortune of being the eldest of three daughters, destined to fail miserably should she ever leave home to seek her fate. But when she unwittingly attracts the ire of the Witch of the Waste, Sophie finds herself under a horrid spell that transforms her into an old lady. Her only chance at breaking it lies in the ever-moving castle in the hills: the Wizard Howl's castle. To untangle the enchantment, Sophie must handle the heartless Howl, strike a bargain with a fire demon, and meet the Witch of the Waste head-on. Along the way, she discovers that there's far more to Howl—and herself—than first meets the eye.

My thoughts:
Well this one was simply delightful. I do not think I can write a review that shows how delightful I thought it was. I went in all meh (after a few dnfs), and then I was charmed. By the simple, funny, cute and humorous tone of the book.

Sophie gets turned into an old woman by a wicked witch. So she leaves her home and sets out in the world. Where she meets the moving castle. And she goes from mouse to whatever, I am old and can do whatever I want. She meets Michael, apprentice to the wizard. She meets a firedemon, oh he was great. And finally the great wizard Howl. I was so amused how she just stepped up and told him she was there to stay. She bullied the demon, Michael was mostly surprised and the wizard did not stand a chance. He was amused by her, and who would not be. The whole situation was funny.

I liked how Sophie changed when she got turned old. She was awesome. I also liked Howl, he was sure not as he seemed, and I already said Calsifer was great ;)

Conclusion:
This one surprised me. It was amusing and cute. It never took itself seriously. It was a joy to read.
