Blog Tour: Linda Poitevin interview - Sins of the Son giveaway

Today Linda Poitevin is over for an interview and there is also a contest where you can win her book  Sins of the Son :)

Welcome to Mur-y-Castell!

1. I will start with the same old question, who is Linda Poitevin? :)
Mother, wife, friend, gardener, owner of too many pets; lover of walks by the river, good coffee, fine wine, fresh food, books that take me away from the everyday…I think that pretty much sums it up.

2. Could you tell me about your new book, Sins of the son?
Sins of the Son is the second book in The Grigori Legacy, a dark urban fantasy series. The story picks up where the first book, Sins of the Angels, left off, following Alex as she goes up against Heaven itself in an attempt to save Seth, the one being who might be able to stop the Apocalypse…if she can help him to remember who he is before he inadvertently causes humanity’s annihilation.

3. What was your inspiration behind the Grigori legacy series?
That age-old writer’s question, what if? In this case, it was triggered by the words of a song by Sarah McLachlan, Angel; specifically, the lyrics “You’re in the arms of the angel, may you find some comfort here” made me wonder what if you didn’t find comfort in the arms of an angel, but something else entirely? That question led me to envision a scene that actually never even made it into the final draft of the first book, which led to the beginnings of a story, which led to the unexpected appearance of Seth’s character, which led to the idea for a series, and so on…kind of like a creative dominoes. J

4. Could you tell me about the Grigori?
In angel mythology, the Grigori were the angels assigned by God to observe humanity. Unfortunately, they did rather more than that, sharing forbidden knowledge with us and mating with human women. This resulted in them being cast—or falling—from heaven. In The Grigori Legacy, I stay fairly true to this aspect, but add a few of my own touches, such as Lucifer being the one who urged them on.

5. You were so evil in book 1 ;), poor Alexandra and Aramael. Will romance and love win in this book?
Hm…that would depend on what you consider winning, I think. I will tell you that I’ve never considered love and romance to be the same thing, though…does that help?

6. I’d love to hear who you would think could play the roles of Alexandra, Aramael and Seth in a movie…
I’ve always pictured Anna Torv (from the Fringe television series) as Alexandra, and I think Henry Cavill would make a great Aramael. I’m still undecided on Seth, though…what do you think? Do readers have any suggestions?

7. How many books will there be in this series?
There are a total of four books planned for the series. I’m working on the third right now, Sins of the Righteous, but I don’t have a pub date as yet. The fourth is tentatively titled Sins of the Forsaken.

ARC Review: Sins of the Son -Linda Poitevin

When homicide detective Alexandra Jarvis sees a photo of Seth Benjamin on a police bulletin, she knows that Heaven's plan to halt Armageddon has gone terribly wrong. As the only mortal who knows of Seth's true nature, only she can save him. Aramael was a hunter of Fallen Angels until a traitor forced him into earthly exile. Now, with no powers and only a faint memory of Alex, his mortal soulmate, he will stop at nothing to redeem himself-even if it means destroying Seth in the name of the Creator...

Series: Grigory Legacy #2, Series: urban fantasy, Pages: 352, To be published: March 27, Publisher: ACE, Source: Blogtour/netgalley/ACE

My thoughts:
Those who read book 1 know how it ended, and for those who did not, well you really need to read book 1 since a lot happened.

The romance does not seem to go anywhere, with Aramael not coming back to her or….But Aramael in this one is changed, no powers and no connection to Alex. He also means to kill Seth. So not cool. So he is losing points in my book.

Alex then, she is trying to be strong after what happened. I do like her and her I am taking no shit attitude.  Which brings us to Seth who is on earth and she goes to find him. And I do liked Seth in book  1, a lot, so it was great to see him again and, well I can’t say, but he has issues….and I really like him ;)

Just like book this book just gets better and better and the last part of this book has me on the edge of my seat. I came to a point where I could no longer put it down and I read and read. The ending is a rollercoaster of emotions. The end, well it is not a I am on a cliff and falling cliffie. It is more an all is well…for now *in comes music of doom* and I go omg. Nooo! Still not a hanging on a cliff cliffie, cos all ends well.

There is action, trying to save Seth, trying to survive angelic assassinations and the war between Heaven and Hell is coming closer. And who do like? Demons are evil, that is a given, but then angels have this you got free will attitude and they do not give a damn. I do not like the angels either. And how the humans are gonna come through this alive I do not know.

Conclusion:
Those last 100 pages, so good! Poitevin is truly evil though. And now I can’t wait for book 3. I do recommend this series:
