Sidelined demon summoner Kara Gillian has her hands full when dimensional rifts allow demons to cause widespread panic and destruction on Earth. These aren't the human-tolerant summonables she's known before, but demons from the far reaches of the demon realm.
Add three demonic lords with conflicting ambitions to the mix, and Kara has the perfect recipe for global disaster.
My thoughts:
Arghh, how to even review this? I am torn. It feels like the only reason I will give this a 3 is cos I like this world and these characters, but my brain realises it is only a 2. If this had been any other series it had been a 2 and I would not have read more. SIGH.
From what I remember I had the same issues with the previous books. She just talked and talked and talked, they went from place to place, but nothing happened. If I had been the editor I would have cut half the book cos 500 pages of this was yawn worthy.
It had its moments, like when 8 books of secrets got told...I mean brace yourself. We do not need everything at once.
I had forgotten who she had hooked up with...I do not feel it.
I did not remember Pellini.
The whole book felt like I had missed one in between.
Gods, listen to your brain! But I do not want to!
Fine, I will rate it 2 because it was only ok.

That cover pose just doesn't seem right for holding a sword like that.
ReplyDeleteI have a few series like that. Not great but I still care about the characters.
ReplyDeleteKaren @For What It's Worth
I just wish it has been better
DeleteI have read and enjoyed other books by this author. It is hard when it's a two but you love the author.
ReplyDeleteI know, sigh
DeleteOh that too bad. I love demons and love the cover.
ReplyDeleteIt is kickass
DeleteSorry it was yawn worthy. I still need to check out book one at least lol
ReplyDeleteThe beginning is awesome, and then you can skip a few
DeleteOh dear, I'd have given it up, too many good books around.
ReplyDeleteI know, but there is...one? or two left! Arghhhh
Deleteoh no. You just wanna keep loving the books because they've been so good in the past... I think I have one book from her. First book of this series? I don't even remember...
ReplyDeleteI do. Damn
DeleteI abandoned this series after skimming book two. Or was it book three? Does it matter? ;p
ReplyDeleteIt is not the first of her series to disappointment me
DeleteOh no! I still want to read the series but it is good to know the failings. We'll see if I can get this far or if the book before this one will end it for me.
ReplyDeleteI have had issues for two books now
DeleteBoring. Meh.
ReplyDeleteSigh
DeleteSorry to hear this was a bust. I've always wanted to try her books, but I admit her White Trash Zombie series sounds more interesting to me :)

I do like that series, but like with this one the last ones have been meh
DeleteAww, makes me a little sad. With that premise and idea, I was hoping for something a little better.
ReplyDeleteOh well.
I know :/
DeleteI think they are great :D
ReplyDeleteUgh. Sounds kind of boring. I don't like books with heavy narratives as well. I need a break in the monotony.
ReplyDeleteIt was so meeeeeh
DeleteThat blows... May be time to break up with this series. I hate when that happens.
ReplyDeleteBut i want to know what happens :/
DeleteAs much as I love Diana Rowland, this series has been going down hill. I think she needs to find a way to bring it to the end. I haven't read this one yet, but I know I wasn't in love with the previous book. Great review.
