Super Short Review: Wayward

Rori Lane is trying to start a new life when she reunites with her mother in Japan, but ancient creatures lurking in the shadows of Tokyo sense something hidden deep within her, threatening everything she holds dear. Can Rori unlock the secrets of her power before it's too late? Jim Zub (Samurai Jack, Skullkickers), Steve Cummings (Legends of the Dark Knight, Deadshot), and John Rauch (Invincible) team-up to create an all-new Image supernatural spectacle that combines the camaraderie and emotion of Buffy with the action and mystery of Hellboy. This volume collects the first five issues of the acclaimed comic series, Wayward.

by Jim Zub (Goodreads Author), Steven Cummings (Illustrator), John Rauch (Illustrator)

My thoughts:
Japanese mythology and 4 teens with powers finding each other.

Nice drawings.

I really do not have a lot more to say. It was good.

  1. drawings!!! I'm intrigued

  2. Probably not my kind of book but glad to hear you liked it.

    1. Graphics are short so they take no time, just a few pics and words, ha

  3. Yes, I'm also curious about the drawings. I love super short reviews :)

  4. Wow, that really is super short! Wish I could see the nice drawings.

  5. Are the creatures related to cats, maybe? :)

  6. So looking at it, is it an actual comic book or a book with a few nice illustrations?

    1. I think when one commenter took it for a novel the rest followed. But as it says in the info bubble, graphic novel

  7. A graphic novel can be a nice change of pace and I do love UF.

  8. I love your one-sentence reviews, might try one of them soon as well! The cover is very nice - all those cats!

  9. Sometimes, that's all that matters. ;)

  10. I like the look of the artwork. Sounds like it was fun. I need to get some more graphic novels. I've enjoyed them in the past.
